    Beta and Official Version CoExist

How long has it been since the Beta Version and Official Version couldn't coexist?

I installed the 9306 version into a different director 'DVD 9 Beta' this morning and the install must have erased the official version in 'DVD 9'. I then reinstalled the official version and it erased 'DVD 9 Beta".

I have updated to Windows 10 since I have installed a Beta. Do not know if this is the reason???

Is there a way so that both Beta and Official can co exist?

I can't say I have tried this recently but I could not get it to work either on win7. You could at one time. The cleanup in the installer must have been changed at some point. In the case of 9305 vs. 9306 Beta, not sure why you would need to. You can always overwrite the Beta if you want to revert.

I did. Thanks for the confirmation. I had both installed in the past but primarily used the Official version.

If I can't have both installed at the same time, no big deal.

I have multiple versions of Fab at all times and can not get 9305 & 9306 to coexist together but, will keep trying different installations to try and get it to work. Will post back if I have success.

What I have found is that after you install 9305 you must go to the install folder C:\Program Files (x86) DVDFab9 and rename it to DVDFab 9305 then install DVDFab 9306 going back to the install folder making sure that it is named correctly to the version of Fab you are installing. See pic
            Hope this helps.

Whats strange is that even changing the destination install path version number of Fab was ignored...

That could be possible didn't try it but, even installing Fab to a different drive, my D: drive, wiped out the previous install using 9305 & 9306 installed in a different destination folder for testing.

I installed 9.3.0.5 on a flash drive no icons, removed the flash drive then installed 9.3.0.6b on the HDD. Renamed the desktop icon to 9.0.3.6b. Popped the flash drive back in created the desktop icon and now both work.

I'm using Windows 10 64bit. It's strange because I have been using the same process for installing Fab for years and this is the only time this has happened to me, my previous OS was Vista 32 bit.

Has nothing to do with the OS, does the same thing for me. This has happened occasionally in the past, I think it is due to an internal component/code update that makes it necessary to remove the previous version.

They will coexist and both function if you follow my instructions in my previous post. See attached:
