Wizard of Oz problem

I thought I'd tack onto this thread since it's the same problem that was initially reported here. I cannot make a backup of Wizard of Oz 70th Anniv. DVD. even tried to change the DVD-5 write size from 4300 to 4920 and that still gave me the error. Attach are all files requested. I can burn other disk backups but not this one. Even tried same disk for another burn which worked. It fails as soon as it scan the blank disk and gets ready to burn, but instead posts the error. THanks in advance for your help.

Unless you also have a faulty DVD player your problem is not the same as the OP .

Ok I would update to the latest Beta available Then when that done I would as well install ImgBurn and use that as the burn engine instead of the Default VSO as that is giving a lot of users problems. Here is link for ImgBurn and follow the video tutorial on how to configure ImgBurn to work with DVDFab. AS for a custimize size try 4472mb as that what I use for all mine also burn at 8x speed for the blank media if not good media

This isn't really a failure of the software.
You're simply attempting to write files too large for SL (dvd5) media.

Hence, the error 105

The max size for SL media is about 4.38 GB.
This means you shouldn't set the max target size in Fab's write settings above 4472 MB and then only with top shelf media.

Keep in mind there are two different methods of measurement here.
Windows uses binary (log base 2) and the blank disc manufacturers use decimal (log base 10).

So your 4.7 GB disc is really only 4.38 GB according to your pc.
Regardless, 4.8 GB is too large.

I started of with the default write size of 4300 and still got the same error. I changed to 4920 to try something else but that didn't work. I will see what the Beta will do and let you know. I do have TY02 DVDs.

I have this DVD region 1 with a UPC#883929092970 will give it a try as well to see if I get same errors but I use the latest released which is the Beta with ImgBurn as the burn engine. I will post back what happens after I try it

Please post the burn log for the other failed burn, ie., 4300 MB target.
As I said, the one you posted failed because the files are too large for SL media.

Do the files playback ok when viewed from the hdd?
The OP of the original post (where you initially posted) had no problem with this flick

I've tried both full disk and customized with almost all selected (sans the non-english tracks and the lead-in stuff). I just tried again with the beta 6.2.2.0 w/o imgburn, but the default 4300 write size and got the same error. unfortunately, the burn log still says that the total size is 4.74 GB. I looked back on my successful burns and they all show a total size under 4.2GB. No parameters were changed since before the first failure instance, which incidentally also showed the same size of 4.74GB. Do you think it's possible WOO cryptographicly can be fooling DVDfab into thinking it's larger that what it is?

I will try IMGburn next. Any other suggestions, please pass them on.

One more thing. The UPC on this 2 disk set (only working on the movie on disk 1) is 883929057344), ISBN 1-4198-7872-7.

FWIW, here is the info.txt summary of what DVDFab thinks it is doing. If you want the DISC.BIN or any of the video files it also saved when saving the info.txt, let me know (they're small).

Is there any non-video stuff you are including with the rip?

Web site links... game previews, etc...

Have you made sure the DVD5 size is 4300 Mb in 'Settings' > 'Write'

Just before clicking next, it said 64% and was copying to 4300 MB (don't remember the size of the files but somewhere around 6600 MB). I did check that. Nope, not including anything but the video tracks. I'm using IMGburn now and will let you know if it gets to burning anything. And, oh yes, the Settings->DVD->Write is set to 4300.
