    Problems getting DVDFAB to run.

    I'm not sure if my problem is within Dvd Fab, or something I might have changed within my computer.
    I have a lifetime subscription to Dvd Fab Dvd Copy. Lately I've been having problems getting DVDFAB to run. Up until recently, I would update
    versions by clicking on the link, and save that file. I would then run your program "DVDFab11_X86_Downloader", it would find that latest file and
    install it. However, a couple versions ago, when I would try to run it, I would get this message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path,
    or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I cannot figure out what I did wrong, or what I am doing wrong. Any help
    would be appreciated. Thanks, D. McCarty

    Check the logs of your internet security software to see if DVDFab or some of its components have been blocked. If you have reliable security (Malwarebytes, etc.) turn off Windows Defender, it is notorious for blocking files and websites without notifying the user. Use the offline installer from the DVDFab website in the future. You can find it using the link in the release announcement post or the Download link in the black bar at the top of any forum page, just scroll down until you see Offline Installer. Choose the version (x86 or x64) that matches your pc configuration.

      Right-click on the installer file and select "Run As Administrator".

        Thanks for the help guys. My Windows Defender was not turned on, and I could not find any other program that was blocking DvdFab files. I decided to try going back to a restore point a few days earlier. This time, when I tried to run the program, I got a pop-up window saying that my firewall was preventing some features of DvdFab, and did I want to allow them? When I clicked on "Allow", I was up and running again. Your suggestions got me looking in the right area, and Windows suggested that I try an earlier restore point. So far all is well in Oregon!
