    Well, I completed my tests.

    Clean install of XP SP3

    Installed 7.0.1.2
Would not scan any source and I have shown in my pictures before.
    Installed 6.2.2.0
Would not scan any source and I have shown in my pictures before.
    Installed 6.2.1.8
    Works perfectly.

Just for the hell of it, I tried a clean uninstall again on my Vista Ultimate rig and my Windows XP Home MSI portable.

Exactly the same results as above.

I do not think that it is driver/hardware related as the units do not have anything in common in their build.

As indicated, it starts at 6.2.2.0 and Signals pointed out that this is where something with SPTI changed.

    I give up !!!!!

I too am having the same problem, running version 6.2.1.8 everything works fine. But when I update to anything newer FAB will start to scan a disc then stop and shows no disc in source drive. I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with 2 Sony Optitrac DVD sata and just recently did a upgrade to a SSD so I did a fresh install and tried FAB 7.0.1.2 again no Source read. The only burning programs I have installed are Imgburn and Ashampoo Burning Studio 9. I tend to agree its something in the FAB driver to access the DVD drives, hopefully they can track this down.
Kind of sucks since I bought the lifetime licence and I am stuck now.

        Further confirming my testing.

All three installations will not scan from ANY source with either Version 6.2.2.0 or any Version of 7.

What is really strange is that if I just install 6.2.1.8 over 6.2.2.0 (no uninstall) everything works fine.

          Precious shuts down FAB 7012

When you first put Precious in to be copied, after a few seconds Fab is shut down, disappears.

            I feel your pain!

Having the same problems as GregiBoy and I’m running XP MCE with SP3 and all current updates. I wonder if this might be related to the processor? I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 (W) 3800+ 2.0 GHz. I can’t get Passkey 7.0.0.2 to work either.

Don't think it's the processor as all three machines that I've tried it on all have different processors.

GregiBoy I know you have stated that version 6.2.2.0 does not work, but did it ever open up any of your previous iso's as you say none of the Fab 7 betas will?

                  No, Never.....

All the ISO's/Folders were created with 6.2.1.8 or earlier.

GregiBoy I was just curious because of the tests that I have done regarding Illegal Characters and a Error Code 400 and know that Fengtao had fixed this and was introduced into the new Fab7, but if you say 6.2.2.0 never worked then that answers my question.
Hope you get it working as I have had no problems with any of the releases just like AGJ.

I don't know how you install your programs. Eg: Download the program as run, and after install right click to run as administrator or as I do, I click save and after it saves it to my downloads folder I then open the folder location and right click and install it with administrator privileges.

Also have you ever checked your properties of your folders and clicked security to check to make sure that under user and administrator that the settings are set to full control for your folders?

                        Hi mate,

I normally do that but on the new clean XP install, I did not bother as I am logged on and doing all the tests as Administrator.

Also, don't forget, I can quit Version 7 and start Version 6.2.1.8 and everything works.

                        Thank for the thought though.

Glad you got something working, but it troubles me that it doesn't work on 3 of your machines, anyway nice chatting.

So is there any chance of this getting fixed or are we stuck using the older 6.2.1.8 ?

Guys I have a long shot experiment for you, at this point long shots are in order. I had to surf over to .Net framework v2.0 and copy gdiplus.dll dated 8.8.2009 1,708 KB and copy it directly into the DVDFab7 folder. If you don’t have .Net framework you need it anyway. Worked for me on W2K. Whether it works for you or not it won’t hurt anything to try it.
