I have a feeling that you are burning too fast and using not so good blank media. So logs would be nice to have they located in C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log post all 3 logs VSO, imgburn and the process log

I have the same feeling...plus he's using a slimline....what do you wanna bet it's a MatSHITa..

The print on the DVD Drive says..."DVD Multi Recorder","Compact Disc ReWriter Ulta Speed", and "RW - DVD ReWritable". Any other information you need please let me know.

sageraziel a few things I see in your logs your media you are using is crap. SORRY
Next your drive needs a firmware update you will find it here
Also if you set up ImgBurn per instructions here set your burn speed to 1/2 the rated speed of your media for the best quality of the media you are using.

if using +R make sure to go into Fab green check / DVD / BluRay write and check set book type to DVD-Rom.

I downloaded it, but I don't know how to use it...My laptop is brand new, so why would it need an update for the DVD Drive...Also I had no idea you could update a DVD Drive. So Please post me back with step by step instructions on what to do with the download you sent me. Thanks.

sageraziel you open up the file if it is a zip file you unzip it by extracting the file then open up the file after it is unzipped and it should install automatically, if you are not confident about doing this you can just skip the firmware update for now because if done wrong it will render your drive useless.

I agree with AGJ, but I also agree with CBR929 that you should not be updating your firmware if you don't know what you're doing.
Slimline lappie drives are expensive, known to be problematic when video archiving and not very robust as burners go.
You're likely to own a very expensive doorstop.

I have no idea why your Win7 hdd is FAT32 and not NTFS.
This is a problem, particularly for someone wanting .ISO files, which will most likely exceed the 4 GB max file size for FAT32 formatted hdds.

To anticipate your next question, yes you can convert the hdd from FAT32 to NTFS and without data loss...HOWEVER.
Be forewarned...you can experience problems and you wouldn't be the first.

NO you cannot convert back to FAT32, not without a huge risk and data loss

maineman I have also seen this FAT32 in his logs but he also stated that he is using an external drive could this be the one that formated to FAT32?? I don't know.
