Bad drive and good drive backup question.

Hello Guys & Gals,

I have a weird question.

I have 2 Blu-ray drives, 1 is older and works for backing up fine.
The 2nd drive is new and would need a firmware update using DVDfab tool to work (which I don't want to do).

So my question is: Without the firmware change can I still use with dvdfab but not fir backup?

Use the bad drive (needing Firmware rollback) to read the disk and then the good other drive to write/backup the disk?

You can use the newer drive with DVDFab for backing up everything except 4k UHD discs.
