A few things your drive has a firmware update you will find it here
Also I would suggest installing ImgBurn you will find a tutorial on that here when setting up ImgBurn have it set to burn at 1/2 the rated speed of your media.
Even if it's a little thing, do something for those who have need of help, something for which you get no pay but the privilege of doing it.

You were right to post the burn log, but the posted one isn't THE log... there's info in the log we need to see, and the log you posted is what gets generated every time you start Fab... the actual burn log will be somewhat longer, and usually starts 'Write Successful' or 'Write Failure'...

Please include the whole log (but NOT the entire contents of the BurnLog folder!).

        Thanks.

Do you think this should be double density?

well the error stated media problem so I just thought maybe a std DVD was too small. Sometimes some of these movies are on double density DVDs. Guess I'm barking up wrong tree.... owwwwww

                        Media Problem???

                        Yes, for two reasons.

                        1.) You're burning too slow... 16X rated media burns best at 8X - 12X

2.) The media you're using... Ritek is OK for data (such as Word and Excel files), but not video work... switch to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim... your problems should clear right up.

The size of your files, as indicated in your burn log, does not support the use of dual layer media (you can use it, but it's an expensive way of burning single layer files on a dual layer disk...).

Try one of the above media, and let us know the results.

thank you so much. I really didn't want to try other pgms or firmware updates yet. I will let you know.

Your drive does not support the Ritek media well, the firmware update might help. Better to follow the suggestion to try TY or Verbatim blanks. You can include the log files as attachments rather than posting the text.

                              it's the new version

I don't think the media is the problem as I've burned this movie on another machine with different media and 4.??? version. It was successful. I then used the same media on this puter with ver. 6.2.1.8 and was unsuccesful. I think it is this version as I have been burning movies on this drive with the same media for quite some time now. I only went to the new version to be able to burn 2012 as I could not get a burn with 6.?? (prev ver) and I did use the Ritek media. I think I'll restore older version and see what happens.
I can send the burn logs if you want from both machines.
