I'm having lots of problems burning. I have a new computer with a i7-920 CPU. I got the new Intel® Desktop Board DX58SO. I'm running my two hard drives as mirrored raid. There are 6 Sata ports. Ports 2 and 3 have the hard drives. Ports 4 and 5 are empty. Ports 1 and 2 have my two burners. I have my new burner and an older one. They are both Plextor. The new drive is a Plextor PX-B940SA internal 12X BD Writer. I was trying the Maxel DVD+R DL 8X media and Plextor said it's crappy and to use the Sony, so I got the Sony DVD+R DL 8X media, but I'm having the same problem. I've been trying to burn with ImgBurn, but it gets to like 33% and then just hangs there forever. I just purchased and installed Nero 10, so I was trying to change the burning engine to Nero 10, but it says it can't find the NeroCmd.exe file. Can anyone give me advice on how to get this working? I'm so frustrated. Thanks for your help and time!

Well for starters can you read what is listed below and then post the info mentioned to your next post reply to this thread. Once that has been done someone will be more than happy to try and help you
Help Us Help You
If you are posting about an operational problem with one of the DVDFab products, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will probably be needed.
First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.
DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:
C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log
The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad if you want to read them. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file. The log files can be attached to a post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the editing box.
dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.
dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.
dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.
dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.
Other Information:
Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.
Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

More information requested..
Per the previous email I am giving more information. I have Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 32-bit. I have 3GB of Kingston DDR3 1333Mhz memory. I have Nero 10, ImgBurn, DVDFab, and Cyberlink Blu-ray Disc Suite software installed. I did a fresh install of the OS a few months back after reformating the new hard drives. I'm attaching the Log files per your request. I have the write settings set to the lowest burn speed. Like I said before I looked at ImgBurn and it was at 33% and it just stayed there for an hour and wouldn't go past the 33% so I just aborted it.

From what I see on you screens, it's sitting and waiting for you to assign (select) layer break point. As soon as you select one and click OK it will continue doing its job.

OMG, I can't believe it was that simple, I've been trying to figure it out for months. Why are they asking you to pick a layer point break if it doesn't matter which excellent point break to pick? Why doesn't it just do it automatically? What is the point break for? I have another question. In DVDFab I chose to use the slowest write speed possible, but when ImgBurn did the burn it did it at the fastest speed. How come it didn't do it at teh slowest speed? Even though it did it at the fastest speed I chose for it to verify and it said there wasn't any problems. I always thought that if you burn at the slowest speed you have a lower chance of getting a bad burn. Isn't that true? Thanks again!

About speed. Yes, lower burn speed than nominal is, in fact reduces chance of creating coaster. Especially it applies on lo-quality media. If you are using good quality media, setting lowest speed is waste of time and torture to your burner.
If you using same media most of the time, I would recommend to let ImgBurn to "sniff" you media and preset parameters. In this case, every time you insert your media, ImgBurn will recognize it and will use preset speet automatically.
Right here you can learn how to do it.
Good lucksigpic

The layer break will be re-positioned in all almost instances, unless you're using Clone Mode. As the laser moves from L0 ---> L1, the disc is burned from the inside spindle area to the outer edge and then ther laser has to transition and refocus to the next layer and then conitnue burning from the outside in.
You don't want the layer break in the middle of an action scene.
Use the preview function to view the cell

I followed the instructions, they were very helpul. But it's asking me to set the speed of the media. It sounded like you were saying there is a way for ImgBurn to test the media and tell me what is the best speed to use with that media and then I can test each piece of media and set the speed in ImgBurn so everytime it would detect that media it would use the speed I set.
What about the seamless option? Should I ever use that? I will have to burn something else so I can use the preview selected cell option and I guess I use that to choose which cell doesn't have any video on it and that will be my layer break position?
Thanks!

You can trust the pretty colored stars in ImgBurn. If there is more than one, use the Preview Selected Cell and choose the one with the least fast action.
You can set ImgBurn to use "AWS" (automatic write speed) which always burns the same blank media at the same speed, but you need to determine what that speed is--it varies with different drives and different firmware with the same drive. You will find it helpful in this process to have some software that can perform a Quality scan of the burned disc (Nero CD/DVD Speed or DVDInfoPro). Just burn the same ISO at 2 or 3 different speeds and set ImgBurn for the speed that produces the best quality scans in your drive and with your media.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ OK, well I'm using AWS and I just set the media to 2.4x to be safe until I can figure out what's the best speed to use. I used Nero DiscSpeed test on the Maxell Disc at 8x. But I don't understand the results. I used a blank disc and used the create disc test plus the other tests. I have both Maxell and Sony DL discs. I'm posting pictures of both the test results and my setup on ImgBurn, so maybe it will be easier to see what's going on. Maybe someone can help me make heads or tails of this. Thanks!
