How to use "split " option

I tried to backup my tv series I used "split" option but It can't be read. It also asked me for 2 layers dvd I just have single dvds. Could somebody help me?

For TV episode discs, use the Customize Split copy mode. Split the episodes between the two output discs using the checkboxes. This is explained in the DVDFab Tutorial, here:
