    Can't Locate Main Feature--Rendition

Can't locate the main feature movie file, using 7.0.9.0 and 7.0.8.7 to no avail. All I got were the Special Features, regardless of using FullDisc or MainMovie. Also tried Clone, but got files that were not playable. This is the third time that I have encountered identical problems. I gave up on previous occasions. But, this time I decided to put forward this issue for moderator help or developer upgrade. "Rendition" being backed up without success is a U.S. release. I suggest that moderators or developers, or both, get a copy of Rendition to duplicate the problems that I have encountered. Thanks,

    Is this DVD or BluRay?

Are you going to give us Moderators the money to purchase the said movie as we do not get paid for the work we do on the forum as we are just volunteers who donate our time to help fellow DVDFab users and to make sure the forum rules are followed. Let us know what GregiBoy asked and as well read what is listed below and post all info mentioned to your next post reply. Then we can help you figure this problem out

      Help Us Help You

If you are posting about an operational problem with one of the DVDFab products, you will improve the speed and accuracy of the response by providing some information in the very first post that will probably be needed.

First, make note of any error codes or messages that appear in popup boxes and put them in your post. Information on error codes that appear in the DVDFab UI are captured in one of the logs we request below.

DVDFab keeps logs of its activities that supply basic system information and can help pinpoint where and when an error happened and help pinpoint the cause. The default location for these logs on most Windows systems is:

      C:\Documents and Settings\your username\My Documents\DVDFab\Log

The logs are simple text files that can be opened with Windows Notepad if you want to read them. If the size exceeds the forum’s attachment size limit, you may need to delete older entries or copy and paste the relevant ones into a new file. The log files can be attached to a post using the "Manage Attachments" button below the editing box.

dvdfab_burn_vso.log Attach for all problems. The entries are time stamped with the most recent at the top.

dvdfab_burn_imgburn.log Attach if you have ImgBurn set as the burning engine and the problem concerns disc burning. Time stamped with the most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_process.log Attach if DVDFab crashes and the crash report window does not come up or complete correctly or if internal error codes appear in the DVDFab window (“Task Failed…”). Time stamped, most recent at the bottom.

dvdfab_internal.log Attach for all problems. Time stamped, most recent at the bottom. Please edit to include only the most recent or relevant log session.

      Other Information:

Depending on the nature of the problem, it can help to know:
If this happens with all discs or just one
      Your operating system/CPU/memory configuration
If you are using external hard drives or optical drives
If you have made any recent changes to your OS or system hardware
If you have other DVD or BD software installed, particularly if recently added.

Posts with all the requested information will be answered first.

        Rendition --DVD, not BD

It is a DVD, not a BD. I copied onto HD first. I have been using d to d and B to B since May and this is a rare problem that I have encountered 3 times so far, all DVDs. I am very new and stoneaged, not tech savvy, but have managed to learn just enough to get done what I need so far, although pretty soon I may have need further help.

If you need any further info, please teach me how to find it and present it to you.

Many thanks for such prompt support,

I know I own this dvd, but I have a sinking feeling it's down in S.C. with most of my collection.
I also created a bkup without any problem back about the time it was released to dvd here in the states.

When you stated this is the 3rd occasion...
Is this the identical disc each time or have you tried multiple originals?

Please run through the list of "usual suspects" in my thread:

If you have not done so previously, please clean the disc as described...regardless of its appearance.

                Same Movie--Very Disappointed

Same movie from 3 different sources. I appreciate the responses. However, I don't believe my problems have been correctly understood.

There is no log when I copied "successfully" onto my hard drive, but it only the copied 2.74GB for FullDisc getting the Special Features only, when in fact the full disc is more than 8 GB. Copying the MainMovie only got part of the Special Features at less than 1GB.

I will be happy to attach what I got. But this web will not allow me to attach a file. I have PDF the Screen shots, in case of need.

I believe the Developer must take a serious look at this issue, because it is part the agreement to provide and update as promised.

I am very puzzled by the the requests for logs when there is none in my case.

I did not burn, just copied to the hard drive.

                Thanks,

I too am having the same issue. Two seperate copies, same outcome.

I would have attached the log files but they are too large. Here is a clip from dvdfab_internal:

try with pathplayer Disabled and just save to hard drive and play from there as that will say if the movie actually on DVD. Also just need the most recent logs for the latest try that not work not all logs for all DVDs you have done

I just tried with path player disabled still same. There is no error that shows. Once I place the DVD into the Drive and open DVDFab it starts to analyze the disk. Once that is up it shows the the folowing:

Clearly this is not the full 2HR 2MIN main movie plus features.

As for the log files, They all read the same except for the movie name is changed. Again I have had no issues up to this point and never once have I seen an error message (knock on wood).

I am also saving DVD to file and not backing up to another disk.

After further testing on multiple computers, there seems to be an issue with playing this DVD on a PC. I cannot get this movie to play on any computer I have, tried on 4 different systems, 2 different copies if the DVD. There must be something on the disk that is preventing the playback on a computer. It plays fine in a regular DVD player

First time making coasters trying to backup Rendition. Loaded 8.0.0.5 and no better. DVDFAB does not give any error messages, and completion of the copy process looks normal. Just records 16 minutes of preview and such, and no main movie.

Yep, this movie has a protection scheme that appears similar to what was mentioned about The Last AirBender... incorrect timing or file sizes or something like that (looking at the tree from explorer). DVDFab/Ripper recognizes title 20 as the movie at 30 minutes. The actual movie vobs appear to be title 1 listed at 00:08 seconds or something like that

DVDRipper can't rip this one anyway, whatever it is. Probably it wasn't a popular enough move to deal with.

How can a DVD that was no problem when released have new copy protection on it
