    If DVDFab will not start

I recently had an issue after upgrading from version 7 to version 8 where DVDFab would not start at all. After some messing around with trying to install with antivirus off and multiple uninstalls and reinstalls of previous versions, I decided to check within the registry. Now, for those not comfortable messing with registry settings, I would advise you ask a computer tech, who is, to do the following changes. To enter the registry go to the start menu and select run, from there type regedit. This will open up the registry. You are going to want to be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER then go into Software. Once in Software, find DVDFab and check the Path in the window on the right. It should show something like this C:\Program Files\DVDFab #\DVDFab.exe where DVDFab # is whatever current version you have installed. Mine was showing DVDFab 7 so when I would click on the desktop icon, quick launch or even the .exe within the DVDFab folder, it was looking for version 7 and would not launch 8. Hope this is a help to anyone that is having issues with DVDFab opening.

You did not have a "DVDFab 8" folder in C:\..Program Files\ that was the target of the desktop icon?

Above registry key is not interesting as program write itself there when started (even when that key is empty).

I was even told to install 8.0.1.5 and that didnt work i open 7.0.9.3 and it works perfectly. and ideas as to why it immediatly errors upon opening.

Ensure value for key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DVDFab\V8\DVD\IOType is 2.

Is it not opening or crashing when it opens?

If you are seeing an error what does it say?

Have you tried doing a full delete/uninstall then downloading again and installing?

Some information on exactly what is happening and exactly what you have done to try to fix the problem is needed.

This seams to be a problem with Kaspersky Internet Security 20011
I have the same problem. After installing DVDfab 8 Kaspersky is removing the application file from the program folder. If I install again with Kaspersky as“ Pause protection…” it will work but as soon I change to “ Resume protection”it will disable function and the application file is taken to quarantine.
I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011
Somebody need to make some changes

I have just spent 4 hours letting Kaspersky fix and scan everything it said was wrong on my system. I do not know whether there is anything really wrong with the present v8.0.1.5 installer or if KIS2011 just thinks there is, but I will not be re-installing this version of DVDFab. I have great faith in KIS, likewise in DVDFab, but I could not in good conscience recommend that anyone install this version.

8.0.1.6 Beta doesn't fix the problem. During an installation attempt, the KIS 2011 (Kaspersky 2011) heuristic analysis still displays the same message:
                    Virus:
                    HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic
                    Location:
                    C:\[...]\DVDFab.exe

Is DVDFab Development team going to fix that trojan-looking pattern of the code?

It appears Kaspersky have fixed the problem.
Received virus update release date 26 Sept 17:38
Sydney time together with a note saying DVDfab
file was not infected and option to get it back.
I have reinstalled DVDfab 8.0.0.5 and Kaspersky
                          have left it alone.
                          Great work

Kaspersky are not completely finished with the fix.
I get the message telling me the DVDfab file was
treated as worm by mistake and recommend
(choice) to move back where it belong. Short moment later
or sometimes straight away I get the message treat has
been detected and I can not open the application

That is something you will have to ask the developers as they do not consult with or confide in me.
