Won't recognise Toy Story 3 DVD - Hangs - DVDFAB needs to be closed using TASK MGR

This product has worked well mostly. But about 40% of my dvd's just don't get picked up by DVDFAB. When I insert the disk, It says 'open dvd source TOY_STORY_3" but that's it. The slider stops moving, it clearly doesn't recognise the disk and I have to use Task Manager to end the application. Just under half the dvd's I have tried to copy give me this result. I will attach the screenshots and logs - please help

    Additional Info

Before I started trying to copy the disk I closed AL other applications. I am running Windows XP.

          Also

The error detailed in the very first post of this thread is standard for ALL blu-rays I try to copy. None of them work, they all bring the application to a halt and I have to kill it using task manager.

            Hi, Fastbowler55
            1. Please download new DVDFab 8050 to copy Toy_story_3. I have try and it works ok with pathplayer enable.
            2. Error_reading info means the disc "SHREK_2" maybe dirty or scratch, please check the disk.
            3. Please try other discs.
            Thanks.

Are you having a problem with Blu-rays or DVDs? You posted in the DVD Copy forum but your posts say Blu-rays. Which is it? It will be difficult to help you with conflicting information like this.

Katiekim - thanks so much for taking the time to reply. How do I upgrade ? I only bought the software 2 days ago, surely I should have received the latest version ? Anyhoo, I cannot for the life of me find any SETTINGS option, or the option to check for updates. Where is this ?

                Hi Signals
DVD's the main problem - let's stick with that on this page - I mentioned that it happens with blurays also, but lets save that for the appropriate forum, my apologies.

Again, thanks to you both for taking the time to reply.

                Cheers

                  Hi Fastbowler55,

                  1) Please click the round green icon button with a check mark at the right top corner of the DVDFab screen, open "Common Settings" window, click the "Check Now" button to check if there is new version online to get upgrades.

                  2) You also can visit directly to see which one is the latest version.

                  Best regards,
                  Anny

Hi Anny - thanks for trying. After numerous errors, I got a message saying my software is up to date (see attached). None of my problems solved though. What's the latest version please ma'am ? I seem to have DVDFab 8.0.4.0

Ok I got 8.0.5.0 from the website direct. Same problem with Toy Story 3 - starts reading the disk and then just hangs

Go to common settings the green dot with check mark top right of DVDFab and select Pathplayer from the left side. Make sure you have it set as always enabled as that is needed for Toy Story 3 and Princess and the Frog

Thanks very much for your trouble - but I checked the settings, they were already set as you described. Same problem - doesn't even complete opening the DVD source before hanging unfortunately

                              Hi Fastbowler55,

                              1) Please visit to download and install the latest free version of DVDFab Passkey to remove protections firstly. And then use DVDFab DVD Copy to copy your movie.

                              2) When read error appears, please click the tick green icon button at the right top corner of the DVDFab screen, open "Common Settings" window, click on "Read", select "ignore all the reading errors automatically".

                              3) Please try using another modes(such as Main Movie, Clone ) to copy again and see the result.

                              Best regards,
                              Anny
