BD Ripper (3D Plus) xx was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this Iphone

    Background
Hello. I am trying to copy The A-team from BD source. I have an apple TV and iPhone and am trying to rip my BD's to a format that can be added to iTunes to be played through Apple TV and also sync with an iPhone/iPad to take with me. So the goal is to maintain as much high quality video/audio as possible, including 5.1 surround, and have it play on Apple TV and iPhone.

    Results
I first copy the entire BD to my local HD as an ISO. Then, using the default iPhone1080pMP4 profile I create the M4V file which can then be added to iTunes. The only change I made to the profile is volume (change to 150%). Apple TV is the easy part since it will play any format in your iTunes library. However, I get the following error message when trying to sync to iPhone.

"xx was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this Iphone"

Why is this? I am using the default profile. Is there a file size limitation? Also - is there an audio limitation for the iPhone? I'd like to increase the audio bitrate.

    I'm using version 8.73

    Here is the internal log:

Is your phone an iPhone4? Also, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed. The problem may be the 5.1 audio, but I just joined the iPhone club and I'm not sure. Generally, you will get better results with a profile for the specific device rather than accepting the compromises that are inevitable if you try to use one profile for everything.

If you do not have it, download and install MediaInfo (free). Use it to analyze one of the rejected M4V files and post the results here.

Yes I do have an iPhone4. Thanks for the suggestion. I will try MediaInfo. I don't watch movies on my iPhone, buts it nice to load a few on it then connect it to a the TV when traveling or on vacation. In the short term I will use the iTunes feature to format for iPhone, unless a better suggestion is offered. Thanks again!

Try changing your A/V Codec setting in common settings of DVDFab from DXVA GPU acceleration to Software only for all choices. That may work but not sure if it will

          Hi mtbikerrob5,

iTunes will not transfer 1080p MP4 file to iPhone, you have two ways to fix it:

          1. use thrid party program to transfer 1080p MP4 file, like GoodReader;
          2. use normal iPhone4 profile to create 960x540 MP4 file and transfer using iTunes.

          Best Regards,
          Fengtao

I also have received this error message. However I only get it with one of four episodes of Star Trek TNG Season 4.

While ripping all 4 episodes from the disc using the iPhone profile (I have a 3GS) the first episode will not copy to the phone but the other 3 will.

            Any ideas?

Success: Use ipodTouch profile for iPhone 3GS

I ran into this issue with my iPhone 3GS. I tried many of the iphone/iphone4/MP4 profiles to convert movies using BD Ripper until I found the ipodTouch profile which was finally successful.

iTunes would play all of the profiles no problem but would not allow me to transfer to my iPhone 3GS with the message "xxx was not copied to the iPhone because it cannot be played on this iPhone..."

When I created the movie with the iPodTouch profile it finally allowed me to transfer it to my 3GS.

Has anyone got a movie to transfer into an Iphone 4s? Struggling myself to get anything to play/transfer
Plus I don't see Ipod touch as an option
