BD Ripper (3D Plus) Blu Ray crashed in Perview movie ASUS N Series

I previously had a Toshiba Laptop with Blu Ray but an older version of DVD Fab which worked OK albeit very slow.

I changed my laptop to an ASUS N73S series OS Windows 7 64 bit, all formats of movies whether they are DVD or Blu Ray play perfectly fine using PowerDVD 9 trial version

I have downloaded the latest version of DVD Fab on my ASUS machine. Is it something to do with the register key? After installing or reinstalling the software and loading a Blu Ray movie for the first time, it asks to check for updates, if I turn the internet connection off, it won’t load the movie. It doesn’t do this for any other format, just Blu Ray

When I try to rip ANY Blu Ray discs to either AVI and MKV, the latest being Wild Target, each time the movie loads if I try and view the film in the preview pain, the programme will crash and ask me to send the report to DVD Fab, they have yet to reply. I've uninstalled, downloaded the current version (again), and cleaned the registry with CCleaner and still get the same fault. If I don't preview the move and rip it anyway, play back is distorted, the movie flashes as though graphic card is shot (NVDIA GEFORCE GT540M).

    DVDs work fine

Please install DVDFab 8.0.7.5beta at .
Then go to "Common Settings->General", untick this box "check for new version automatically".

if I turn the internet connection off, it won’t load the movie. It doesn’t do this for any other format, just Blu Ray
DVDFab Blu-ray options need connect internet to decode AACS and BD+ copy protections, that means you need to have your computer connected to Internet as running BD Ripper.

DVD Fab crashes using Blu Ray ripper on my ASUS N series

Is this a keycode problem? After installing the software and loading a Blu Ray movie the first time, it asks to check for updates, if I turn the internet connection off, it won’t load the movie. It doesn’t do this for any other format, just Blu Ray
every time I try to preview a movie when ripping a Blu Ray the programme crashes, it asks me to send the report to DVD Fab, I’ve done this 5+ times now, NO reply. I have emailed them and logged the fault on their forum, no reply.

I have already installed the latest version of DVDFab 8.0.7.3 and ticked the green icon button in the right top corner of the DVDFab screen, opened "Common Settings" window, and clicked on "Pathplayer", and deactivated it

Blu-ray Copy and Ripper require a live internet connection for decryption. For information on why, see this thread:

Turn PathPlayer back on. Turning it off should not be necessary any more and was only helpful for a few odd DVDs.

Pathplayer not used for Blu-ray only DVD so changing it for Blu-ray is not going to help. Could you post internal log file located in document-dvdfab-log. As for the preview screen what do you have selected in common settings to use for preview?

Check and make sure it shows same as what it says in the attachment below

Two threads on same subject merged.
One thread on the same subject is all that is needed.

                  HI Sockit
Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed you may even try to Open Fab click the Click the Green at top right corner of the DVDFab screen, and open Common Settings > General >A/V Codec, set Video Decoder to Software and set Video Encoder to Software restart Fab and try again.

Mona had also replied through email. Everything works fine now:

DVDFab Blu-ray Copy needs connect Internet to decode AACS and BD+ copy
protections, that means you need to have your computer connected to
Internet. Then you should be able to load and copy BD movies freely.

Please make sure that you have auto play turned off for all programs after a
disc is inserted in your drive. Then open DVDFab first to load the movie,
after you successfully load the BD movie, please go to Common
Settings->General->A/V Codec, set video decoder as software and set video
encoder as software, then convert again to see if you will have the "play
back is distorted" problem or not.

                    Thank you all.
