DVD Ripper copying audio file only

I looked for a tutorial on how to extract audio to no avail. I found much on youtube but nothing explained the steps here. I did rip using Roxio is there a video for converting to mp3? I find the Ripper confusing and when I tried a burn it just did a video copy

It really is easy, see the attached captures and duplicate the steps, click the Edit button to set the filename and make other tweaks, click Start.

thanks when I used ripper it created a file with raw extension that will not play
it looks simple I agree may be a matter of setting
