    BD Ripper (3D Plus) 8107QT Beta - PS3 - MP4 Still Not Working

    Tried 8107Qt Beta for my PS3 MP4 BD ripper and still have the same issues;

    1) I rip about 10 minutes of the BD (Using 'SANCTUM') and then test the partial rip using VLC on my desktop
    2) After a few minutes on VLC, the soundtrack disappears - Only video is available
    3) I then stream to the PS3 and as before, the streaming jumps and jitters all over the place

    Here are the logs but in the meantime, I've gone back again to the 'old reliable 8085' --- Changed over to 'Software' in AV Codecs - Any suggestions would be extremely welcome to get this frustrating problem over with.......

    I suggest you run MediaInfo (find it at videohelp.com) on both a working and non-working test file to give the developers some more information on what is being created.

      8085/8107 Media Info Comparison

      Good Morning,

      As requested here are the 2 Media Info extracts for a 12 minute BD Ripper (PS3/MP4) file. The first is from DVDFab Version 8085 which works just fine when played back on my PC and when streamed to the PS3;

      General
      Complete name : C:\Users\Mike\Documents\DVDFab\ps3\SANCTUM_G51\SAN CTUM 8085.mp4

      The second Media Info extract is from the 12 minute extract of the same BD (SANCTUM) but this time using DVDFab 8107- This shows the audio stream disappearing after about 2 minutes. This extract plays just fine on my PC (until the audio disappears) but when streamed to the PS3 jumps and stutters. However, once the audio disappears, the video stream is smooth
      on the PS3. There are some obvious differences in the 2 Media Info files but they mean very little to a non-techie like me

        The video codec in the second one is set for variable frame rate, not sure why or how the players you are using react to this.

          Variable Frame rate

          I noticed this - I tried changing this in the DVDFab setup menu to 'Constant' but it would not change in the 'profile'- That shows only 'Same as Source' -- Additional information -- I have made a 'MKV' version of a BD and then used the 'Video Converter' to convert the MKV to a PS3 MP4 - The first one I tried was with a default frame rate of 23.976 and that jumped all over the place on the PC (VLC) - But when I changed the frame rate to 24.000 for the conversion it seemed to be fine . - I've yet to try an MKV to PS3 conversion over the streaming....

          So, the questions are - How can this variable frame rate on 8107 be rectified or changed to constant as in version 8085 - and is this the possible solution? And, why is the soundtrack disappearing on 8107 after a couple of minutes? Or is this tied in with the variable frame rate selection? Sorry to ask what may be obvious questions but I'm not very familiar with the techniques used

          Thanks

            The size and duration of the audio would put this squarely as a bug. Hopefully this has given the developers enough to go on to find it. What is interesting is that the audio portion is so much longer than the video in this clip.
