DVD Ripper Ripped files have video freeze near end

Hi, I'm making a first-time post as I've got frustrated with my rips. I'm ripping using the latest version, using the Xbox 360 profile as I view them from my external HDD on the 360.

Rips are great until the final few minutes, where a strange and consistent bugger-up occurs, the video freezes but the audio continues unaffected, this freeze usually doesn't bother me as in film rips it is during the credits, but I ripped TV show box-sets such as "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" and missed the whole joke they make in the scrolling of the credits, rather annoying.

Anybody got any ideas how I can sort this?

    Cheers in advance

    Hi G1ng3rPaul,
Which version of DVDFab do you use? If it's not the latest build 8128 QT beta, please try it. If do not sucess by using it, please post the lastest internal log here.

    Thanks for your support!

      Beta downloaded, no change

Hi, as advised I've got the beta installed, attempted a rip of a film and once again have had the image freeze with the audio proceeding unaffected near the end. How do I go about posting the info you wish?

A fix for a similar problem was provided in v8.1.2.8 Qt Beta, read the release notes.

The DVDFab internal log is named dvdfab_internal.log, use the search function in windows explorer to find it. Open it with Notepad and copy and paste the relevant log entries into a post.

            Thanks, G1ng3rPaul.
In my test, DVD ripper to xbox360.wmv.wma9 is OK here with source TRANSFORMERS_3.iso. Will do more test.

I have, in the time between posting that log and receiving your reply, ripped Xmen Origins: Wolverine and Black Hawk Down, the log for both is below and sadly the problem persists in both rips I've had this issue consistently throughout all of my rips I have discovered after reviewing through them, but the presence of the issue was only noted when it cut into the ends of my episodes of A Bit of Fry and Laurie and the Futurama films, also robbing me of large chunks of the teaser segments tacked on by Marvel after the individual members of the Avengers' respective movies; a very saddening discovery.

Any solutions to allow me to solve this would be greatly appreciated, I would rather only have to re-rip a small pile and have what I want, than keep ripping with the fear of losing parts of my videos. I honestly don't wish to attempt my box-sets due to this issue, which I feel is a bit limiting :/

How would I go about selecting .wma10 as opposed to .wma9? And would this really make a difference?

              Many thanks in advance

Instead of ripping as a WMV rip it as a VOB and play it on your 360 using Windows Media Center. I had the same problem and doing it this way solved it. VOB's also look better imo.

No-can-do, my connection between the two is abysmal, though would ripping a VOB then converting to a WMV using a program I have outside of DVDfab work? I shall test this theory and report back, however it is evident there is an issue here which needs addressed and so I'd rather not have to make a double-stepped process a workaround when the product I have paid for should do the job I ask it to :/

Any further solutions and help from team people would be greatly appreciated

I have tested the two-stepped process, converting the resulting .vob using "Format Factory" to a WMV and loading it onto my 1TB External for the 360, seems to have by-passed the issue and as such I'm quite pleased, but the fact remains that I shouldn't have to do this...

Further advice on fixing DVDFab would be grand

                      Helloooo...?

Any more info/useful solutions from the DVDFab folks? Once again, I don't mean to sound harsh but I've not had any help about your program, just a work-around using a different program :/ Please help me with this, I think it would be only fair if you, the people I paid for this program, to provide the support I deserve

                      Many thanks in advance

Surprise, surprise the issue is still here, I've attempted with a few films with the 8.1.3.2 which I used my .VOB rip converted to .WMV method (produced flawless but colossally large files) and with the Xbox .WMV rip the last few minutes still produce a video freeze, with audio continuation which is really starting to irritate me now

I paid good money, I read in many reviews that DvdFab was the absolute best product in this area but yet I have found this consistent and saddening flaw to persist every single time except when I use Fab for half the job and then convert across from .VOB

I would like to know if there is any theoretical reason why, other than an issue with the programme, my rips are constantly afflicted by this plague of freezing

I once again await replies, and thank all those involved for their help but I really would like answers which bring a solution very very soon

Giving 8133 a go, using Red vs Blue season 1, the full disk playthrough file, ripped and converted from VOB to WMV without issues, shall report back with results of 360 rip
