BD Ripper (3D Plus) Missing Audio in iPad/iPhone Blu Ray Ripped file

I bought "3 idiots" from Taiwan last week.

I tried to rip the video onto my iPhone and I have trouble while ripping.

    Settings
    iPhone/iPad default setting
    BR - All Chapters / Hindu AC3 5.1 / English Subtitles

The problem is: The ripped file has no audio

    Further testing
BR - Chapter 1 (tried different audio setting)
    Same no audio

BR - Chapter 2 (tried different audio setting)
    Audio is there?!

Somehow when I tried to rip Chapter 1, it becomes mute through out the whole movie.

    Anyone experience similar problems?

    Hi Zori,
What about playing the output files on PC player?
More info are needed. You can check the output files by MediaInfo(Free) and tell us the result.

Yes, I was using Media Player Classic to play the ripped m4v files.

I tried to rip to mp4, m4v, avi, or even convert to DVD.
Seems like something tricky is on chapter 1 (8:xx min), all ripped chapter 1files or whole movie files are muted and without subtitles. But all ripped files from chapter 2, 3 (haven't tried the rest) and on are with audio and subtitles.

When I played the disc on PowerDVD, in the beginning of Chapter 1, when they show the distributor and india licensing paper (equal to PG/R thing), there is no audio, or subtitle. Not until 30+ something seconds later, there is audio and subtitle.

My Guess is DVDFab can't identify any audio track or subtitle track when chapter 1 begins and ignore audio and subtitle throughout the ripping process. This may explain why ripping chapters other than chapter 1 are successful.

      Any suggestions?

          Hi Zori,
In my opinion, it could easily be the source chapter 1 issue. Please check the chapter 1 of the disc.
Use Blu-ray Copy->main movie, set "Title Start/End Settings", Start 1 and End 1, set a folder as target, then start copy. Check the output files by MediaInfo.

Tried the suggestions you have given using DVDFab 8.1.3.2

After Total Time Elapsed 005:20, CPU is still at 1% and the Percent is 0.00%, Task Time Elapsed and Task time Left are still 00:00:00

There is a new Beta version, 8133. Please try that and post the DVDFab internal log if you still get no audio in chapter 1.

I finally have some free time to try out again. I have download the beta and ripped the first chapter and 2nd chapter.

Again, the 1st chapter has no audio or subtitle, while ripping from 2nd chapter may have both

                The log for Chapter 1:

                  Hi Zori,
What about other discs? It's OK here. Please do BD ripper to mkv.remux with the single first chapter. Check the output files with MediaInfo and the size of idx/sub. Post the info.
                  Thanks for your support!

                    Thanks Terry,

It was exactly like before, Chapter 1 has no audio in MediaInfo, while Chapter 2 has.

Anyway, so far this is the only Blu Ray movie I have problem and I am still very happy with what DvDFab can do for me.

I just hope in the future version, this problem can be fixed and there will be HD audio ripping and chapter, subtitle on/off support.

                    Regards,
                    Richard

                      Hi Zori,
In my opinion, chapter doesn't have audio as test result you done. How about playing the disc on device? Whether the chapter 1 has audio, subpitcutre or not?

Usually the PG rating or publisher stuff are excluded in 1st Chapter in US Blu Ray.

In this Blu Ray, the PG rating (in Indian language) are the Publishing company logo was shown in the first 30 seconds of the 1st Chapter before the movie actually starts.

It can be played normally with sound and subtitle under PowerDVD on my PC, my Samsung BD player or my PS3.
