BD Ripper (3D Plus) Forced subtitle (Planet of the Apes)

Anyone know how to get this to work? I tried checking display only forced subtitles so that I can see the translation when the apes do their sign language. Unchecking the forced option gives me subtitles for the entire movie (including sign language). Please help.

    Thank you.

I'd like to know the answer to this one also. I tried to rip it to iPad & hit the lower box that says display only forced subpicture hoping it would only show forced subtitles but it doesn't.

Anyone know how to get forced subtitles to appear when ripping to iPad format?

I only want them to appear when someone is talking in another language not thru the whole movie.

Try selecting the other english subpicture stream if there is one. You can only select a single stream if you want the subtitles rendered into the video. If the translations are in the other english stream you may not need to check display only forced.

There's nothing in the tutorial about this.

I'm trying to convert the same title to iPad format.

I've tried every complete stream & every combination possible can someone please help me know how 2 make the subtitles come up only when the apes are signing.

I'm using the latest version of dvdfab.

The complete movie is showing titles:

                600, 800, 801, 850 & 851. They're all showing times of 1:44:56.

In the bottom right corner where it says remove hd audio there are English, Spanish, French & English.

Below that is the box that says display only forced subpicture.

Which title number did you select? Also do I check any of the languages in the remove HD audio.

Also do I check the display only forced subpicture box?

I've tried every combination I know & can't get the subtitles to come up when the apes are signing.

1 - Are you trying to rip blu ray or dvd? i'm doing blu ray
2 - Are you using blu ray ripper or blu ray copy? i'm using blu ray ripper for IPAD, remove hd audio on blu ray ripper is greyed out so i think your using blu ray copy (you need to switch)
3 - You should select the 2nd english subpicture and do not check display only forced subpicture.
4 - So you don't have to wait for the entire movie to rip why don't you just rip a scene where you know there are subs present like chapter 14. You can do this on title start end settings and select chapter 14 to chapter 14. I just did it again and it worked like a charm.
5 - My settings for A/V Codec are all software (This works great for me as my audio is in perfect sync) I also have some other settings that I use for IPAD (i don't use the default) however for testing that one scene I would use the default so it doesnt take long.

Let me know if you get this to work.

                    Done It.

Please note this is for the UK Region 2 Edition

                    1. Open Blu Ray Ripper
                    2. Insert Blu Ray
                    3. Blu Ray Ripper will pick main film OK, Will pick English DTS Master Audio OK, Will pick 4 English Subpictures you need to untick the first three (On the region 2 UK version number two will not work).
                    4. Click edit (Edit Video profile)
                    5. Last drop down option SUBPICTURE choose direct render to video
                    6. Start your ripping.

A note to DVD Fab developers - I use DVD Decrypter for my DVD ripping and it was easy to choose the right Subtitles because you get a full description, normal subtitles are "Normal CLOSED Captions" and the subtitles for the signing etc are just called "Normal Captions", would it be possiable for Blu Ray ripper to be a bit more descriptive, having Just English is not helpful.

Thanks akadennis. I was using Blu-ray ripper. Ripping from a Blu-ray to iPad format.

I didn't understand that the 2nd box on the bottom right hand corner was called the subpicture box. Your description was very helpful.

I did as you said & it worked. I chose the 2nd English subpicture (last language track in that box) & didn't choose show forced subpicture.

It would have been helpful if that said don't show forced subtitles. The word subpicture was what was getting me confused.

If the bottom box on the right side if it has 2 english tracks in it does that mean the movie will have subtitles in it?

Also is there anyway if you're ripping from a Blu-ray to iPad format to put chapter marks in it. That would be helpful especially if you want to skip to a specific chapter.

I don't know for sure the answer to your question but I think to your first question the answer is no and to your second question I think if you go to edit profile under split select split by chapter. I have not tried the chapter thing yet but will at some point.
