BD Ripper (3D Plus) Need HELP on changing Video Format Profile

I used the normal iPad profile to rip movies but lately I switched to the iPad1080 profile and set the resolution to 1280x??? to rip movies for my iPhone. They work nicely and show even nicer through AppleTV.

I recently bought PS Vita and I tried to place some ripped movies into it for fun.

The old movies I ripped was in 960x??? and 1024x??? format, they played nicely on PS Vita too. But for the new ones that I had ripped at 1280, some were not be able to be played on PS Vita while some can.

I found out all the ones that were able to be played were in Format Profile : Main@L3.1, and those which are Format Profile : Main@L4.1 are not compatiable on PS Vita.

Any suggestion on how to set the 1280x??? resolution BD rippting to use Main@L3.1 only?? I have copied the Media Info of the 2 movies I ripped yesterday using the same profile. Both can be played on iPhone but Main@L4.1 can't be played on PS Vita.

        PS Vita profile

Hi Please use the attached profile.
        Put the xml to C:\Program Files\DVDFab 8 Qt\profiles3\
        Put the x264_PS_Vita.preset to C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Roaming\DVDFab\V8\

        Thanks,

          Thanks for the file,
I was out for vacation for a while and back.

I tried to unzip the file but got errors, download again and it is the same.

Can you re-upload the file again?

Update your fab to the latest version 8155 which support the ripper to PS vita. If get errors, please post the internal log. Enjoy yourself.

              Thanks

But is there anyway to set the bitrate higher?

Cause if I set it to 1957kbps, I can play nicely on both PSV and iPhone 4s at the same time and even output on TV thought 4s.

              Thanks again

Is there any way to push the bitrate higher for the PS Vita Profile?

I tried to modify the xml and preset to 1792 bitrate manually but somehow the file is still less than 1500mbps and sometimes under 1300??

At 720, with bitrate around 1300, I can see a lot of rough edges and blocks on the screen and while the mp4 at 1792kps looks silk smooth most of the time.

Anyone know how to change the PS Vita profile effectively?

I manually change the profile max bitrate and set the bitrate to 1792 for video and 160 for audio. But the resulting file is somehow 1300 to 1500?? Wondering why this would have happened?!

                    Dear Terry,

Can you show me how to change the setting of the PS Vita profile?
I tried to manually set the bitrate to 1792 for video but somehow the result were only about 1300 in total which makes the video file to be far worse than it can be.

                    Thx

If you change the frame size after you have set the video bitrate, it will default to 0.15 b/p and a lower bitrate. Choose the frame size first, then set the video bitrate. You can modify the characteristics of the profile using Profile Editor, which installs with DVDFab. Update to v8.1.6.1 if you have not already.

                        Thanks

I tried to load the profile of some video which were 720p and at 1792kbps playable on both iPhone and PSV both of them were set at 0.15b/p

I tried to load other profiles and they are same.

Any place I can read on how to set them correctly?

They will all default to 0.15b/p unless you change them with Profile Editor 8. You can leave the default as it is and set the bitrate for individual conversions on the Edit page of DVD/BD Ripper, but you have to set the frame size first, then set the bitrate. It should then make the conversion at the bitrate you have chosen.

I did follow your advice, still not working
I downloaded the lastest DVDFav and by default the PS Vita setting is fixed at 768kbps (MAX) only?! Even when I open the xml firls, the setting is 15000max 2000 deafult?!

Anyone can help me to fix this problem??
