Anyone know how to hard copy the non-english parts into the movie? I've tried every bloody thing and still no copy of the hard subs into the bloody movie. Very frustrating!!!!
It's a region 4 DVD and is the older one I believe. I'm using the latest version of DVDFab ripper also.
I also just noticed that it will not play in my Samsung bluray DVD player which does play Divx files. I've tried to rip the DVD using a variety of .avi options from the pull down menu but I haven't found one that plays yet. I'm keeping the file size to well under 2 GB so I don't know why they don't play.
I don't have the Region 4, just the R1, sorry. Are you looking for forced subs of translations or trying to get all of the subs to appear in the output video?

Gid day
I'm trying to get the non-english speaking parts in the movie, Dutch and German, to be hard encoded/burned onto the final video. No all the movie.
G'day, got it. The key step is to determine which stream contains the forced translation subs. To make this work in DVD/BD Ripper you have to select only the one stream that contains the forced subs. Usually it is the same stream as the main dialog subs, but not always, especially with older discs. If it is the same stream as the main dialog, just select only that stream and put a check in the box that says "Display only forced" and select Direct Render to video on the conversion settings (Edit) page, bottom right dropdown.
If you are having trouble finding the stream with the translations, install the free DVDSubEdit from here: http://download.videohelp.com/DVDSubEdit/ . Use it to open the VOB movie files (File->Open full domain) from a folder on your HDD, and put a check in the box that says "only show forced subpics". You can then use the dropdown stream selector (top right) to choose the individual streams one at a time to see which one contains the forced subpics and choose the same one in DVDFab. The stream order in that dropdown is the same order in which the streams are listed in DVDFab.
