BD Ripper (3D Plus) Quality issue (BD -> MKV)

Im in the process of ripping my BD's to my external HDD.

Problem is I cant get the quality I want.

I tryed using the mkv.remux setting, but It wont alove me to change the titel of the movie, which for some reason annoys the hell out of me.

So I use the audiocopy setting for ripping, and here is where my problem starts.

I cant get the same quality as when using remux. Even if I set the bitrate to 15000 (which is max) I can still see a difference in the 2 rips.

I thought it might be me, but my GF can see the difference too, and I checked the size of the movies:

    Remux version: 25gb.
    Audiocopy with 15000bitrate: 19 gb.

    What am I doing wrong?

If I could some how me aloved to change the title with the remux setting, that would solve alot of problems ^^

    Hi Leafblower
I an not sure if this will be a resolution for you, but after the movie is done converting can you not rename the output file to the desired name.

If you want to edit the title that is held within the MKV container, just use the "Header Editor" utility in MKVMerge. (MKVToolnix.... Freebie)

      No remuxing, easy peasy.....

Remux does not re-encode, the quality should be identical to the original.

Just a thought on the quality thing Leafblower. Have you tried the software only setting. Turn off Cuda Dxva or whatever. It's slower but from all i have read the quality will always be superior. It's how I rip now and always happy with results.

I ran mkv.remux on a blue ray that was copied to my HD. it created a large file, what did it do exactly? as you said it didnet re-encode, did it just wrap the original file?

Yep, it just remuxes it into the MKV container.
