I'm trying to make an mp4 from Dances with Wolves Blu-ray but I can't get forced subtitles. Anyone have luck with this one? It seems many other titles like Avatar, Kill Bill 1 and 2 are also giving me headaches.

I have this disc and will try it also. I assume you are referring to the Sioux dialogue.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Guide: Using Images in Posts

The Sioux subs in the version I have (the 20th Anniversary BD) are forced but they are in a stream by themselves, so you don't need to filter them with the 'Display Only Forced' switch. If you want it to look like the capture attached (as it did in a theater) just select ONLY the bottom English sub stream (see second capture) and select 'Direct Render to Video' in Advanced Settings. No need to check Display Only Forced with this disc.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Hi all, I have this already on my hdd with subs cant remember how I did it, but can anybody tell me if it is possible to alter where the subtitles are on the screen? My copy is 16.9. When I play it back through my WD TV Live media player the subtitles are on the top of the screen ( in the black band)but I cannot see half of them as they are so high , yet on the original disc the subtitles are on the bottom of the screen ! Any ideas?

If you use BD Ripper, DVDFab will move them for you to make sure they are in the cropped area. This may be an oddity of your player, I have never experienced this with DVDFab copies or conversions. What is the format of the movie on your HDD, is it a BDMV folder or a MP4/MKV or some other converted type?Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ It is mkv audiocopy, will give it another try using 9072as per your instructions, by the way , where has mkv audiocopy gone to on 9072,? cant find it ,has it been renamed?. Usually when I convert to mkv the rip goes to a folder named mkv, but yesterday using mkv default it went to a folder named Video. wha'ts happenind?

Not sure but I will check. I don't use MKV as I have a house full of iPhones and iPads to support. I was not aware of any changes, it certainly has not been removed, it's a popular feature.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ I can't find any of the old "audiocopy' profiles, but you can easily re-create them using the Advanced Settings page in Ripper, see the attachment. Just put a check in the indicated box and all audio settings become same as source'. You can then save the profile as a default for easy access.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ Some settings that were not present in v8 can produce that effect. Check the bitrate and bits per pixel readings on the Advanced page. If the file is too large, you can choose a smaller frame size (resolution) or lower the bitrate to reduce it. You can also change the setting for Video Quality from one of the preselected ones to 'Customized' and then manually tweak the bits/pixel slider or enter the file size you want in the box. Sounds like you may be using an audiocopy setting, which will generally make the output much larger than re-encoding a single audio stream to say, AAC Stereo.

The strange thing is the mkv file size is now bigger.Version 8.2.2.9 was 7.540 kb
