DVD Ripper version 9.1.3.8 Slow and Demanding

9.1.3.8 takes an age to rip anything using AVI-H264 on my system and is so demanding on my AMD FX-8120 water cooled processor, that it starts to overheat. I have a AMD Radeon HD 7750 graphics card.

I have reverted to version 9.1.3.6, which has no such problem.

How long do you consider an age? I just completed xxxSMAUG.avi from the BD in 31 minutes. 9.1.3.8
How to post the internal log

Did you used ATI decoder /encoder during job?
        4.09 is 4 mins 9s?

          sounds like hours to me
with gpu disabled ripping BDs takes from 3 to 4 hours (i7)
with gpu enabled it takes from 35' to around an hour

Dora, I'm afraid I don't understand. I'm ripping a dvd episode to an avi using dvdfab ripper.

The time taken was copied from dvdfab and I assume it is 4mins 9secs.

other details include resolution: 536x300, audio codec: copy.

Dora, I just read what you actually wrote and it makes perfect sense
All encoding & decoding was set to software for both versions.

I have tried dvd ripper 9136 vs 9138. The same testing envirment, it seems has no big difference. 9136 time taken 7'40'' , 9138 time taken 8'58''. Some times run other program can make a you speed.
I spend about 4' to ripped with gpu enabled.

Just tried 9.1.3.9 Beta - not as demanding as it peaked at cpu temp of 65 degrees, but still took 10.28 mins. Gone back to 9.1.3.6 again

Just tried v9.1.4.0, results are 66 degrees max cpu temp but fluctuating a lot. Time taken 10.40 mins.

My system is running Windows 8.1 64bit and DVDFab is assigned 8 cpu cores.
