    Forced Subtitles (Solved)

Hi All, new to the forum and new to the software ....

I really need some help before I tear my hair out

One of the biggest problems I seemed to be having is converting a DVD to avi file (either Divx or Xvid) and retaining just the forced sub-titles.

    This seems to be so inconsistent, two films in my collection are giving me grief;

Da Vinci Code, copied DVD using DVD to DVD onto me hardrive, using DVD to Mobile, browsed and opened the folder where the vobs were copied to then selected first subpicture (DVDSubEdit showed this is where the forced subs are) and enabled Display only forced subpicture as well as Direct render to video.

Hit start, 30 mins later, nice avi file with ALL the bloody sub-titles showing.

I have tried many different combinations and either get no subs at all or all of them.

The exact same thing seems to happen with District 9 as well.

Please, help, many thanks for anyone taking up the gauntlet to save my sanity

P.S. If I play the film(s) from the copied vobs on my drive using WMP, then I just get the forced subs, so think the copy worked OK.

P.P.S I am using version 6.2.1.8 of DVDFab Platinum, although I am still using trial at the moment, as no point buying something if I cannot get the sub-titles to work!

    Hi Monty
The forced subs works, I have made an AVI of District 9 that was fine. Da Vinci Code should work fine also, I made one of it when it came out but not with the current versions of DVDFab. Which exact profile are you using?

I'll try it with v6.2.2.0 Beta and see if it works.

Well I though I'd give the new Beta version a try myself ......

.... and damn me its worked on Da Vinci code (only tried the first two chapters)
gonna give the whole movie a wizz through and then try District 9.

          Fingers crossed

I assume this must have been a bug that's got fixed

It may have been, but I have not seen it reported elsewhere or in the release notes. The District 9 test worked fine with 6.2.2.0 (chapter 2 only).

Well that version has fixed the issue some how, both films have transcoded correctly with only the forced sub's showing

So I am well happy and off to buy me a license for DVDFab now.

Would be intresting to know what it was I guess.
