I use 8.2.2.3 and 9.1.4.6. I have an old Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz with 2 GB of ram and an nVidia 6200 with 256k video ram. It's a stock Dell Dimension E310 with an upgraded hard drive. It's abysmally slow and I want to upgrade the unit to work faster. From the pure perspective of the software, what does it like better: more ram, faster CPU or better video card? I will likely use that chassis and upgrade all three, but was wondering what works best and fastest.

An i7K processor is the name of the tune in my opinion. You won't really need a graphics card unless you are a gamer. How to post the internal log

GPU
I thought some part of post processing was pushed to the GPU on a good video card. It's possible the best effective option is just to go with some off the shelf I3/I5 model. I've been pricing motherboards, CPUs and ram and an upgrade looks like it will be several hundred dollars and I still have a very old computer...with an upgrade. I have it running the Windows 10 preview right now and it's awfully slow.

Listen to the advice from 90312, he has the fastest conversion speeds of anyone I know. Intel QuickSync and a killer mobo are his secret weapons I think.Supplying DVDFab Logs in the Forum ...........................User Manual PDF for DVDFab v11................................ With Intel, anything with integrated HD4000 is good
I have a core i7 based system with HD4600 graphics which uses Intel Quicksync to offload the coding decoding. Ripping at 9500bits I get anywhere upto 150fps ripping Bluray. That said, I also have a Core i5 with HD4000 graphics and that's really quick too, even my laptop with integrated Intel graphics is very quick. My main desktop with AMD Radeon is nowhere near as fast, but I believe NVIDIA is better than AMD for this.
