If I disable autocrop the resulting video is a small box. I have to keep autocrop on so as to keep the display full high def screen size.
This same thing happened before and there are a handful of posts about it over the last few months.
It gets fixed and then it comes back.
Using x.7.1 and resulting video is fine. But I'm thinking autocrop is on by default?
The screen size information is getting lost some where along the way if autocrop is OFF with released version x.7.4......
If I do pass through for video and no auto cropping the result should be the same as the main movie on the bluray. The resulting video should play back in full high def video just like it does when playing the bluray.
That is not happening. The video file produced with video pass through and Auto Cropping OFF is being displayed in a smaller box on the screen. Something is once again goofed up.
Trying again but have turned off autocrop and have manually gone into the edit screen, to the crop settings, and told it "Original" and "Keep Aspect Ratio" is checked.
Isn't the assumption if I don't want auto cropping that I want original? I have to manually tell it to keep the original if I turn off auto cropping?
The resulting video plays back full screen when auto cropping is turned off IF I go to the manual edit settings and tell it to make the mkv preserving the resolution and original.
If I do not manually set those options just using "Turn Auto Cropping" off ends up with as noted with a mkv that displays in a small video box.
I can duplicate the "small box" effect that jsm mentions but only when set to 2.39 or 2.41 and only with certain content. It can be corrected with the little zoom slider below the other settings.
Her Majesty's Secret Service bluray this evening, manually set to original, don't crop, etc., generated error message. I did not include the log here because DVDFab sent it via email automatically already.
Some thing is not right with the Autocrop, don't autocrop, etc......
Not sure what's not right. Glad they are looking into it. Obviously some resolution setting isn't getting handled correctly, not getting communicated all the way through the process, being set completely wrong so as to be incomprehensible when viewed.
I can repro the issue by these setps:
1. Set disable auto crop in Common Settings.
2. Open a source, the resolution is 1920*1080, 1920*800 after crop.
3. Set auto crop in Edit.
4. Begin conversion and get the small box effect.
We are checking the issue but not sure that we are have the same issue and same steps.

If it's the burning issue, please also attach burn log.
Here are also steps that I could re-produce this issue:
1) A DVD with resolution 640 x 480, but it's a 16:9 video with black bar on top and bottom
2) Auto-crop it then the resolution becomes 640 x 364
3) In previous working version, if I change the output resolution to 856 x 480 then the output file would be scaled up to full 856 x 480. However, with the latest 2 version, it creates small box effect that the output file is 856 x 480, but only 640 x 364 in the centre shows the video, and not only top and bottom with black bars, left and right also with black bars. In other words, 640 x 364 doesn't get scaled up to 856 x 480.
