BD Ripper (3D Plus) Lip-synch issues. (The Island)

I am having lip-synch issues again. The two previous titles that I reported were:

A Walk among the Tombstones
Ouija

On this recent title, The Island, I have done a little experimenting. When I rip the movie as an AVI there are lip-synch problems. If I rip the movie as an MP4 the lip-synch problems go away.

It doesn't matter what audio codec I use as an AVI, they both do the same thing and I have lip-synch problems. The same thing works for the MP4, regardless of the audio codec I use the movie rips just fine without the lip-synch problems.

Please let me know what kind of files you wish me to send, log files or movie clips etc.

I have Tombstones and will see if I can duplicate the problem.

In the Tombstones movie, the problem isn't as obvious. The movie starts out fine but by the end of the movie the lip-synch problem is about 5 to 10 seconds off. The other two movies that I listed above the problem is rather obvious it starts out at the beginning.

Thanks for the additional info, I have The Island also I think and will try to find that one instead. If you can locate the DVDFab internal log session from Island, it would help to attach that to a post.

Darkore, I get the same problem with AVI. Audio is way off, almost 3 seconds, even fairly early in the movie. Also tried the AVI with MP3 audio, it does not work either, although the MP4+AAC conversion was perfect. I will report it to the QA Team at DVDFab.

Thank you for looking into it, I was beginning to think I had a driver or hardware issue since I had only seen the problem on four or five Blu-ray DVDs.

Something that might also help you target the problem. If you use MakeMKV to rip the DVD and then use DVDfab's conversion section to convert the MKV to an AVI. The resulting AVI will still have the lip-synch issue, even though the MKV plays fine.

I have tried it on 2 PCs and with different A/V Codec settings, so there must be a quirk in the authoring of the discs that Fab isn't coping with well right now. Sorry for the aggravation, we'll get it onto the "to-do" list when they open up in about 23 hours.

Hi I'm having same issues with lip sync with Law and Order SVU S15.

I am having the same issue with Taken 3 with the latest version of DVDfab. It is fine through most of the movie and then off a few seconds towards the end. It works fine with v8.2.3 but the subtitles are off with that version.
