    DVD Ripper Subtitle problems

    Windows 10 w/ DVD Fab 9.2.0.9

I am running into continual problems trying to get subtitles to properly display. I am ripping to mp4 and have tried both the remux and hard options. The current series I am trying to rip is Cowboy Bebop REMIX. I select JAP 5.1 audio with English subs. Sometimes the previewer will show it correct, sometimes not. It has been my experience that it never displays subtitles as the file will be ripped. I have set the subtitle option to both remux and hard, but neither option produces a file with subtitles. I would prefer not to save the subtitle as a separate file and ideally would have them as soft subs.

Is there an issue with mp4 and subtitles? Can anyone give me some suggestions on what other settings to try?

    Thanks,
    Jay

No known issue, maybe your settings or a player issue. Post the DVDFab internal log, instructions in my sig, below. Have you tried the Direct Render to Video option?

I have tried playing in the default Win player, Win Media Player and Plex with the same results. Japanese language with no subs. Just for fun I tried all of the same settings but selected the English 5.1 audio track instead of the Japanese 5.1 and the subtitles appear? Very odd, so I thought I would check here. Thanks for any input.

My problem with Direct Render is that each episode uses two subtitle tracks and direct render only allows me to select one. I only get half the subtitles. Is there a secret trick to select multiple subtitle tracks?

For Direct Render, like the Highlander says, there can be only one. For what you want, you will need the Remux Into Stream option and a player that supports it.
