BD Ripper (3D Plus) Preserve HD

As I have the audio being decoded by my av receiver i use the 'mkv passthrough' conversion method.

But would like to know is I am right in also choosing the option 'DTS-HD Master/5.1 (Preserve HD)' setting, whenever I rip a blu-ray.

What happens if I don't choose the 'Preserve HD' setting, will it cause issues for playback on certain devices.

No, it should not, and the file will be smaller than if you leave the HD in place.
