    CUDA Failing on Many DVDs

I'm re-encoding DVD TV seasons to h.265, and I've noticed that CUDA has failed so far with both of the shows that I have tried (The Red Green Show & Columbo) with every single DVD - it'll start the process but then instantly say "finished" and move onto the next one. The episodes encode just fine if I disable CUDA, but it's obviously significantly slower.

Going through the log, each task ends with:
    0m 01.43s: --- connect filter failed(Module_CudaEncode create_cuda_encoder_handle_failed) ---

Attached is a snip-it of the log.

EDIT: I should mention that I am using v10.0.6.5 x64

        Hi jessica,

It shows that you are using a laptop.
Please reinstall nvidia dirver with customer mode, check clean install.
        Then give a try.

No luck - did a clean install of all my Nvidia drivers, and that didn't have any effect.

I should note that CUDA seems to work great for a lot of DVDs and BDs, but for TV seasons, it just fails immediately.

            @jessica.olson
            1. Open nvidia control panel .
            2. Add dvdfab.exe fabprocess.exe to 3d settings like show in pic below.
            3. Run dvdfab then give a try.

Still no luck. As I mentioned, CUDA works just great with many of my DVDs and BDs, getting upwards of 1000 fps, but it will not work for these two shows (Columbo & The Red Green Show). I tried a third show (Flight of the Conchords), and CUDA worked great, but it still wont work with those other shows.

Found another show that CUDA fails on: Scrubs.
                Same error: connect filter failed(Module_CudaEncode create_cuda_encoder_handle_failed) ---

Yet I was able to get through all the seasons of the Rockford Files with CUDA enabled, no problem.

I seem to be having this exact same problem with version 10.0.6.4 (I've never had this issue before). Currently seeing this with The Emoji Movie (2017) US.

TheSteelRider, what happens when you try doing the encode with DVDFab 9? I get the same error with v9.3.2.1 as I get with v10.0.6.5 x64.

Also, have you tried any TV shows?

I'm having the same problem with 10.0.6.5 Video Convertor and NVidia GTX1060 (latest drivers, Windows 7 64-Bit)
                      I'm trying to re-encode existing TV episodes (1080p, x264, mkv) to H265.
When using CUDA, conversions complete instantly and say "finished" but there is no output. I have tried H265 and H265 10Bit and both have the same issue.

Forgot to upload my fabcheck_internal.log ... here it is.

I'm running Windows 10 with a GTX 960 Ti. I did recently (couple weeks ago) update my Nvidia drivers to v.388.00 from v.387.92. Perhaps there is some connection there. Although, I also just updated DVDFab to 10.0.6.4 (from 10.0.6.2) as well, so I sort of updated both since the last time CUDA worked.

                            *** UPDATE *** 10.0.6.2 WORKS

Luckily, each time I update DVDFab, I assure I separately download and keep the installer. I re-installed 10.0.6.2 and now CUDA works just fine on the discs that it failed with under 10.0.6.4. So, some change between 10.0.6.2 and 10.0.6.4 broke CUDA HVEC encoding.

Here is the dvdfab_internal.log snippet with Annabelle Creation failing under 10.0.6.4 then succeeding under 10.0.6.2

I have narrowed down my specific issue... Apparently CUDA encoding fails when "Deinterlacing" is unchecked (as I generally prefer to have my equipment do the deinterlacing on playback rather than during the original encoding). When "Deinteralcing" is checked, CUDA encoding works properly and does not error out.
