Invisible subtitle when not is suppose to be there.

i ripped dora and the lost city of gold from blu ray to mp4 and played the completed file in vlc and powerdvd and each showed a hidden subtitle when i selected none when ripping and no forced subtitles were chosen either . but in the pics below you will see there is a track of some kind. something is messed up when ripping to mp4. works fine when ripping to mkv as you will see in the pics below Click image for larger version

Checking it. It will take a few days to get the disc, please be patient. Not sure why you posted two threads about this, the other one is deleted.

That was an accident. Thanks for deleting the double post in correcting that matter

Apparently it is with all movies when creating and MP4. From what I can see it has something to do with it creating chapters in the MP4. I've been doing a little research and it seems like it's just with an mp4 issue.

Possibly true, but I have never noticed it. If you have not tried it with Fab v11.0.6.7 Beta, please try that. I will run some today and see how it works.

Tried it with the latest stable version as well as the beta version both give the same results.

I tried making an mp4 from a main movie rip of the movie Valerian preserving the chapter marks and it plays normally, so it is not all discs. I will have the Dora movie in a few days and we can see what happens with that. We’re you using the mkv as the source for the mp4? Perhaps have a try using the original disc.

The ironic thing it plays fine with dvdfab media player but not with the other two programs VLC player nor powerdvd. I ripped it from the main desk to MP4 and when I went to go play it with those two programs not the media player through dvdfab itself it shows under the subtitle heading subtitle 1. Which I find it odd considering that I did not include the subtitle nor did I include the forced subtitle. Now it seems pretty strange did it only seems to be working fine through dvdfab media player but not through those other softwares. I find it highly unlikely that to other programs experience the same problems where the media player through dvdfab does not.

What I will do is use my cell phone so take a picture of my computer screen of what I am seeing so you can give me some insight on this possibly. Cannot take a actual screenshot from the computer itself because the moment I move my mouse that little item does not show on the screen.

Okay I just rip the main movie alone from my Bluray of Dora the lost city of gold. Then I ran it through the Ripper of the Blu-ray to MP4 format. Then I went to go check it out using CyberLink powerdvd 19 as well as the new VLC player. Still that same issue as I did not include subtitles in my rip to MP4 nor did I include forced subtitles when I did the main movie alone. And still it sees at Hidden chapter because it says subtitle 1 also it does not have the chapters so if you click next it goes back to the beginning of the movie. Personally I think there is something wrong with the MP4 module.

Just tried it with the DVD of the movie same issues. Dvdfab media player sees everything fine. But powerdvd and VLC do not see it as such. Might want to tweak the module a little bit so there's other softwares can see things correctly.

when ripping to MKV everything works with not just dvdfab media player but the other companies as well powerdvd as well as VLC see things correctly.

Sorry you have this problem panthera, I am still trying to reproduce it without success, but the Dora disc has not arrived yet. Other titles work correctly as mp4 in all the player software I have, which includes the ones you mentioned. Note that the character generator in VLC can generate lots of text on the screen during playback.

Please tell me the step by step in your processing for the Dora movie. Here is what I am doing:
                              • Copy the wanted title to hdd in BDMV folder
                              • Run Ripper to generic mp4 using hdd folder as Source, default settings
                              • Check playback on PC with VLC, PowerDVD19 with default settings
I remove all subtitles in the Copy to HDD step, but have also tried it in the Rip to mp4 step, no difference. If you have listed these steps previously I apologize, I can’t see it while typing this.
