    DVD to Mobile keeps breaking

DVDFAB 6.2.1.8 although this problem has occurred since version 5.
    Windows 7 x64

Essentially here is the problem. I installed DVDFAB some time ago. Everything was fine. DVDFab to Mobile worked like a charm - giving about 40+ fps and converting successfully. Registered it and was happy. Everything good.

I come back about 6 weeks later. Go to convert a DVD folder on HD to an avi file. Conversion runs at like 0.24fps slowly dropping to 0.0 instead of the 40+ like it used to. After some lengthy time I cancel the conversion in DVDFAB.

I then try to convert the same DVD I successfully did six weeks ago, now that won't convert either. So it appears not to be a source issue.

The only way I ever fix this is to reinstall windows. I can't keep reinstalling windows just to make DVDFAB work. How do I find out what update or program it is that I have installed since installing DVDFAB that breaks the DVD to Mobile option?

Excuse my frustration. I would just like to stop having to reinstall windows just to fix DVDFAB. Nothing else appears to not work correctly in windows.
Is there some kind of extra process/debugging log that can help hunt down the offending program/task.

If someone has had this problem and fixed it can you please advise?

    Many thanks.

try using the reset DMA in common settings General of DVDFab. Post back with the results also

I clicked the Reset DMA button and it asked me to reboot, so I rebooted and then tried again, problem still exists. Encoding FPS starts out less than 1 and slowly reduces to zero.

Thanks for your suggestion though, I do appreciate it.

Have you got CUDA turned on? If so try it turned off. Could be a bad driver.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I have an ati card so only DXVA is selectable. I have tried with GPU Enabled both checked and unchecked. No difference.

          Graphics Chipset :
          ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series

          Supported Video Codecs :
          DXVA_MODE_H264
          DXVA_MODE_VC1

I'm pretty certain that if I reinstall windows DVDFAB will work once again.
I've uninstalled a bunch of programs that were installed after DVDFAB and then reinstalled DVDFAB but that doesnt seem to help.

AutoGK is working fine. But DVDFAB is much nicer and i paid for it too...

How does DVDFAB use XVID? is it a directshow filter, its own inbuilt codec??
Just trying to narrow down where the problem lies.

Ok. I have installed DVDFAB 7.0.3.0 into its own folder.

DVD to Mobile is not working regardless of whether it is
            to MKV
            to PSP
            to AVI
            to GENERIC and xvid profile.

The same results. Encoding FPS starts at 0.xx fps and slowly decreases
to 0.0fps, task time left is always 00:00:00

Is there a special debug mode that can help?

All the codecs are internal. Other users have reported this symptom in the past, like a year ago, but not recently. I have not tried v7.0.3.0 yet, but I will try it too. Did you install DVDFab "As Administrator"? There is no special debug mode, but the internal or process logs may contain information about the problem. Please post them. Also, are you using audiocopy or audio encode (MP3, AAC etc.) profiles?

                Hi, thanks for your help.

I installed as Administrator - right click on setup and run as administrator.

I have tried several profiles. both audiocopy and mp3. I have attached the log files although had to trim the old stuff out because of file size limits.

I appreciate your help. I am willing to try any suggestions that you think can help isolate this problem.

Do you know what this problem was previously and how it was fixed?

                  Solved yet?

Anyone solve this yet? I'm stuck the same way.

I suspect a pushed windows update driver for my GTS250 but not quite sure yet.

                    tokitchi,
it seems after your last windows installation, your system clock wasn't set properly. It would create conflict with drivers that were issued on a later day and confuse Windows. Please set your system clock, reboot your computer, start DVDFab "as Administrator" go to Settings -> General -> reset DMA.
Reboot your computer again and give it a try.

I guess he's alright than. Should we close this one? Otherwise it would be never ending story... and if he decides to come back, he'll start new thread and we can merge them if needed... What do you think G?
