    DVD Ripper Bad quality?

    Hi,

today I used instead of FU DVDFab to convert my DVD.iso to avi.
It only took 20 minutes, but for 1400 MB the quality was very bad.
When I used FU with the same movie, the quality was much better, only very few artifacts. Are there any recommended options I have to do?

The movie was "Into the Wild" (RC2, German).
Profil was "generic.avi.xvid.audiocopy". I used 2-pass encode and 1420 mb for the file.
      Resolution was 640x380.

Espacially in fast scenes like on 53 minute, when he swims in the boot, you can see many artefacts (big pixels). Using FU with 2-pass the movie is much smoother. I wonderd cause using FU it took 1:30 hour, with DVDFab 22 minutes.

Please test the two files you made using MediaInfo and post the results. What was your bits/pixel setting in DVDFab? What are you using for playback? Sounds like the video bitrate was too low for the output screen size you used.
