    DVD Ripper 8015 Hangs

The latest officially release DVDFab v 8 as well as Beta 8.0.1.5 hang while ripping a particular movie (Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II).

I got the following error in dvdfab_internal.log

    DVDFab 8.0.1.5 (2010/09/21 21:19:33)

    0m 00.90s: option dvd2dvd 1 dvd2mobile 1 bluray2bluray 1 bd2mobile 1 file2mobile 1 filemover 1
    0m 36.89s: pathplayer enabled

    4m 12.06s: ------ cancel all mobile work -------
    8m 09.37s: pathplayer enabled

dvdfab_burn_vso did not have anything interesting.
There were no other log files (all are enabled).

I am happy to supply more information but I don't see a note about what information you want for a bug report. (I expected this to be in a faq or sticky note).

      Hi fbacher
Since this is an older movie you will need to disable path player Open Fab Click the Green top right > Protection > Path Player > click disable Path Player, OK restart Fab, just remember to set it back to always enable when done.
      Hope this helps

I'll try your suggestion. I did not think a movie released to DVD in 2005 was considered "old." Of course I'm 50 so my sense of "old" has been changing.

Disabling Path Player did not help. Using Software encoding did not help. It locks up very quickly during the first pass of encoding.

I should mention that DVDFab 7.x was able to process this DVD just fine (as well as almost any DVD I threw at it). I also tried processing another disc, which is also a Godzilla movie, and I got the same hang. If you like I could pick other movies from my library to see how it behaves.

dvdfab_internal.log. First entry without pathplayer. Second entry without pathplayer and with software encoding:

It is old in the sense of the types of protections it probably has, but there are plenty of discs from this era that do require PathPlayer to be enabled.
