    DVD Ripper 8.0.4.0 - warning: stream tag DX50/0x30355844 incompatible with output codec id '63'

    warning: stream tag DX50/0x30355844 incompatible with output codec id '63'

    I am now getting this in my dvdfab_internal.log when I try to rip any movie using the generic.avi.divx.mp3 profile.

    What does this warning mean?

    I also got this warning in version 8.0.3.2. Both of these new versions have stopped generating avi's that play.

    No warnings are in my log when I use 8.0.2.2 or earlier and those avi files play fine.

    any reason you not post the internal and process log file? Just a small piece from it does not help

      Humour me please and try it with XVid, not DivX selected....

        All the codecs were updated. The new one apparently does not support fourcc=DX50. The pure xvid ones still work, at least through (I think) 8.0.3.5, which is the last one I tried. Rubber Duck needs to post or attach the log files that show this error so the devs can check it.

          When using - generic.avi.divx.mp3 i get this warning in the log
          warning: stream tag DX50/0x30355844 incompatible with output codec id '63'

          When using - generic.avi.xvid.mp3 i get this warning in the log
          warning: stream tag XVID/0x44495658 incompatible with output codec id '63'

          Other issues associated with these warnings can be found in my other post here: http://forum.dvdfab.com/showpost.php...78&postcount=1

          ( I started a new thread to raise awareness of these warnings as no one was really replying to my post other than the standard and not useful "Have you tried VLC?" response.)

          I do not get these warnings in 8.0.2.2 or earlier versions dating back to 6.2.1.8.

          These warnings only appear when using 8.0.3.2 & 8.0.4.0 and i get the issues of avis not being finalized correctly - check url above

            I have provided log examples, screenshots, MediaInfo outputs etc in my other post (http://forum.dvdfab.com/showpost.php...78&postcount=1) but haven't anything more official other than your comment (http://forum.dvdfab.com/showpost.php...93&postcount=3)
            All of the internal codecs were updated in v.8.0.2.8 and there was a problem with the xvid codec (which is used for all the "DivX" profiles) that was fixed in v8.0.2.9 but may have crept back in. I get a crash when testing anything that uses the xvid codec and have reported it to the developers.
            I am more than happy provide any information you need and other tests you want me to do I will do them too.

            I just want to help find a way to get this working as normal again.

            As I have said before when I go back to 8.0.2.2 or earlier I do not have these issues they only happen when DVDFab gets updated (whether the program prompts me to update or if I manually update to 8.0.3.2 or 8.0.4.0)

                    hi,

                    This warning log is just the normal log of fourcc setting, which will not effect the output file.

                    Can you play the file correctly ?

                      No.

                      Files generated with 8.0.3.2, 8.0.4.0 & 8.0.5.0 will not play and they are missing all tags associated with the file.

                      You can see my examples and issues in this thread:
                      DVD Ripper Version 8.0.3.2 - No Video in DivX/XviD file after 2 pass encoding

                      P.S. I do not get this warning message when using 8.0.2.2 and the files play correctly and have all associated tags.

                            hi, Rubber_-_Duck

                            which player is your used ? wmp12 or others, if using wmp12, I think the problem is caused by the odml tag which is used by support the output file to bigger than 2GB, but default avi-splitter has bug for this, so the video cannot be correct played.

                            you can try using other avi-splitter, like Haali(http://haali.su/mkv/), then using wmp to play it.

                            or if you not create file bigger than 2GB, you can use this profile to replace your profile in DVD install folder.

                            <profile name="generic.avi.divx.audiocopy" version="200" device="generic" tag="dvdfab" description="The profile is used to create avi(xvid + source audio) file, which can be played in DivX compatible player." >
                            <common>
                            <file format="avi"/>
                            <container>
                            <avi odml="0" />

                            </container>
                            <audio copy="1">
                            </audio>
                            <video>
                            <size list="" />
                            <encode codec="xvid" fourcc="DX50" bitrate_kbps="900" >
                            <mode value="real_time" list="real_time, high_quality" />
                            </encode>
                            </video>
                            </common>
                            <vcodec name="xvid">
                            </vcodec>
                            </profile>
                            please try it, and I turn off the warning information in next beta version.

                            thanks.

                              Yes I use WMP12.

                              In the past there have been no issues with playing files larger than 2GB.

                              When I convert the same dvd with the same settings in 8.0.2.2 the 3.26GB file plays fine, all tags are present on the file and there are no warnings in the log.

                              It's only the last 3 versions (8.0.3.2, 8.0.4.0 & 8.0.5.0) when this problem occurs.

                              The problem seems to be tied to the new internal codecs that were implemented in the 8.0.2.8 beta.
