This freezes up and the loading window stays on top of the movie... when loading .ISOs, tried it with several different ones.... John Carter, Avatar, Cowboys and Aliens.

I just made an ISO of John Carter from a BD folder using ImgBurn, it plays perfectly. Not sure where your ISO came from but it may have a conflict with the player.
