    What changes is the 'DVDFab Media Player' doing to a Windows installation?
    Are any codecs or system settings altered or components exchanged?

    None that I have ever been able to detect, but only one of the developers could say for sure. Unlikely I think.

        Well, on OS-X it installs a kext (driver) for some odd reason. Presumably it does so on Windows also?

          Yes, OS-X installs a kext driver is a workaround for some SCSI command issues, also DVDFab for mac install that driver.

          DVDFab Media Player for Windows has no driver installed. For windows platform products, only DVDFab Passkey has system driver(dvdfab.sys) installed which is a on-the-fly decrypter.
