dvd ISO movies do not play

    Hey guys,

Need help with the Media Player not playing any ISO dvd movies.
    Running Windows 10 (just upgraded).

It worked perfectly fine on the same hardware in Windows 8.1

All ISO files have been originally created with DVD Fab. Had zero issues playing using those in the past on multiple PCs and laptops in the home.

The same files play perfect using VLC

I am at total loss given that I don't get any errors. Media Player acts as if I didn't mount or click on the ISO file.

Go here and download and install

Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

    And give it a go.

I can't get the link(s) in my post to work so just google C++ redistributable and get the x86 version for 32 bit runtime library.

90321, thanks. But no dice - I've reinstalled Media Player as well and that didn't make any difference. Behaves exactly the same.

It worked for me doing the same thing? It must be the 32 bit version even if you have a 64 bit machine. I tried the 64 bit version and it didn't make a difference, tried the 32 bit and viola!

90312 yes I did notice the 32 bit reference in your post. That's the one I installed. Tried MP, no luck. Re-installed MP and the same thing!

              Hopefully you'll have another idea

I guess I don't since it fixed mine. Mine would play mp4 and mkv files fine but just seemed to ignore iso images without a message, updated the 32 bit runtime library and it started working. Are you making the iso files or downloading them off the web? Sometimes how they're made makes a difference.

Thanks for trying. The ISO files were made from DVDs using DVDFab. I've remade one today using the latest version in the faint hope that there was some version issue; obviously the same result.

I'll hate to get rid of Media Player and use VLC instead. DVDFab player is quite good and I liked the interface as well.

                  Thanks again.

Try mounting the ISO using DVDFab Virtual Drive (also free).
