  • DVDFab Media players close or Appcrash on all media files

I will start with Media Player 3 .
I have a license key for it.
It installed correctly with no problem.
It does this with all files but this was just .mp3 file .
All media files I've tried crash it.
I have another computer that doesn't do this.
One computer has Windows 7 HP SP1 32-bit. (The one that works)
One computer has Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit. (the one that fails)

DVDFab Media Player 5 is a trial version.
It opens the "Send Report" popup window when I attempt to open any file.
I did send a report but as DVDFab is closed for the meeting I suspect there is no one to read the report.
Below are the zipped log files from DVDFab Media Player 5.
If more information is needed I will try to provide it.

The staff is back at work and pouring over the reports and emails that arrived in their absence. Please have some patience and someone will reply. I have both 3 and 5 installed and they are both working fine.

I have two other computers with DVDFab Media Player version 3 & Windows 7 HP SP1.
      It works correctly on both.
One of those also has DVDFab Media Player version 5 trial & it is working correctly.
So both being installed is not the problem.
I already tested with just one of either installed on the problem computer.
The main difference is the problem computer is it is Windows 7 Pro SP1.
The problem computer is connected to my receiver HDMI & then to my TV.
The other computers are connected to VGA monitors.

I won't mention the software names but the problem computer has two other media players installed not counting WMP.
      Both those play correctly.
I hoped that I could use DVDFab Media Player 5 to play Dolby ATMOS & DTSX.
One of the other two media players seems to play Dolby ATMOS at least sometimes.

None of the computers are using hardware acceleration.
They also have the same antivirus & malware software installed.

I could see if DVDFab Media Player 5 wasn't playing the Dolby ATMOS or DTSX for some reason.
      It fails even with a simple .mp3 , .wav . , .MP4 , .MKV or .MTS .
Probably other media files as well .

That's about all the information I have.

        Hello cholla,

About the crash problem, did you use PC mode or TV mode on the problematic PC?

I could see if DVDFab Media Player 5 wasn't playing the Dolby ATMOS or DTSX for some reason.
What is your receiver and how is it connected to your PC? And what are the audio settings, did you try different combination?

        Regards,
        Mona

          I tried both.

Denon AVR-X1300W connected to this PC via HDMI cable.

          On where you quoted me.

          It should have said:
I could see it if DVDFab Media Player 5 wasn't playing the Dolby ATMOS or DTSX for some reason.
The meaning of that is if DVDFab Medial Player would play the other files like .mp3 but not Dolby ATMOS or DTSX without crashing.
Any file I've tried has brought up the report pop up with DVDFab Media Player 5.

With DVDFab Media Player 3 Windows displays the message in the image posted in post #1 on all files .

            I found the problem.
It was the driver for my sound card.
Once updated both DVDFab Media Players would open the files without any error.
