    Win10 Crashes

I'm experiencing Windows 10 crashing when trying to copy a DVD's VIDEO folder from the disk to my hard drive (and then I pull that into Handbrake). Passkey does "process" the DVD fine. Usually happens with newer titles and the last 3 or 4 version of Passkey (since I upgraded to Win10, hasn't happened when I was on Win7).

Any ideas? Any log files to look for? Thanks.

Must be something to do with your other programs and windows 10, maybe a driver conflict, I have 5 system running Fab and W10 Pro, no issues. Look and see if any of your other programs have an issue also.

      More Info

This continues to happen. I've dug deeper into the MiniDump files. I can provide the full MiniDump.dmp file if that will help anyone.

      What happens:
      • My Win10 is up and running, including Passkeyv8.x (I always keep it up to date -- current installed ver is 8.2.5.8 ).
      • I insert a disk into my external DVD/Blueray drive.
      • Passkey starts to decrypt and finishes without incident
      • I go to windows explorer and drag the VIDEO_TS folder from the disk drive to my hard drive
      • The copy procedure starts, but within seconds, the system crashes with the BSOD and the following Error Msg as it "collects data and restarts":
        "unexpected_kernel_mode_trap (Wdf01000.sys)"

Near the top of the MiniDump file, is this, followed by a bunch of what looks like modules that are currently loaded.

*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for dvdfab.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for dvdfab.sys
      Probably caused by : cdrom.sys ( cdrom!ScratchBuffer_ResetItems+c4 )

try doing a clean uninstall of passkey, run a good registry cleaner,
restart computer and re download a fresh installer of the latest version
of passkey. install and see if it crashes again.

          @October
I stepped thru that, including removing my copy of DVD Fab application, cleaned the registry with an Editor's Choice from download.com, the reinstalled only the Passkey.
First DVD was processed just fine (as always), then it successfully copied to my hard drive. YAY. And now a second one.

Now I just need to try a Disney distributed DVD.

          Thanks for your help.

Instead of dragging the file to your HDD, use Passkey's Rip to Hard Disc or Rip to Image options.

              Crashing again

              Well, same issue.
I did update my Passkey to the latest. 8.2.6.1

Wonder if that messed it up? Thought it was working for awhile (but did take some time off from using it during the holidays).

I'll try the Rip To HD before going to uninstall route again.

                Passkey Menu use

Well, without trying anything like uninstalling, I tried @signals suggestion to use the context menu "Rip to Hard Disk..."

and the disk that just failed with a drag/drop move, successfully was placed on my HD.

                Will keep all advised.

                THnaks.
