    Video Converter failure

    Hello,

I have 3gp video files created from a Nexus One cell phone.

I am trying to convert the files to MP4 format.

DVDfab fails when processing my 3gp files.

    I am running DVDfab 8.0.5.6.

Does DVDfab support 3gp files created from a Nexus One cell phone?

DVDfab does play the 3gp files in the mini-window.

The message I get when trying to convert is:

    Conversion: One Pass
    Work1 Failed, Error = 504.00 1 2
    Process Failed!

Then a separate window pops up with a "Processed Failed!" message.

I get the same error message regardless of which file or audio option I choose in Video Converter.

Please let me know if I need to provide any further information.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give.

Sorry the logs tell me nothing, you say these files were created from a Nexus One cell phone.
I am not sure if Fab can not recognize the file to convert them...maybe some one with more video conversion experience will be able to help you more, sorry

Not sure if this will help but Check in common settings of DVDfab the green dot with check mark and look at the A/V Codec settings. Change all available options to Software only. Then give another try

            AGJ,

They were set to software only.

I ran it again to double check. Same result.

Youtube, Facebook & Adobe Premiere Elements 8 are all able to process and convert the video. Handbrake is unable to convert the video.

            Any other possible solutions?

            Thank you,

            Dana

Download and install MediaInfo (google it, free). Use it to analyze the files and post the results here (copy and paste into a post). The phone may be using an odd video or audio codec that DVDFab can't recognize (but the developers may be able to add support for it).

                Signals,

I have attached the output from MediaInfo as a text file.

                mediainfo.output.txt.

According to MediaInfo the file is already MP4 format. Why you trying to convert to mp4?

                    AGJ,

My level of knowledge for file types does not go much beyond the file suffix.

The Nexus One produces files with a 3gp file suffix. I wanted to produce a file with a MP4 suffix. I may be confusing file type with container type?

But, DVDfab would not produce any other type of file from my Nexus One 3gp videos. I tried all the types listed under Video Converter and they all failed.

                    I.E. wmv, mkv, avi, etc.

                    Dana
