    Hi guys.
For NTSC, what's the difference between 29.97 and 23.97. The disk is made at 29.97, and default on the encoder is 29.97. But I see a lot of rips at 23.97. What's the advantages and disadvantages of the lower number. In simplest terms please.
    I did a thread search, didn't see anything........Thanks

It depends on how the content was encoded. If you select "same as source" you will usually have no problems. 23.97 is usually filmed content (movies) 29.97 usually shot with a video camera (some TV shows, concert videos), but these are not hard and fast rules (many modern NTSC video cameras have a film mode that shoots at 23.97 ).
