    Crashed opening .flv

Tried opening an .flv file (drag and drop) and the program crashes with message that DVDFab has stopped working and to close program. 8.0.8.5 opens this same file fine.

As a follow up, I've since tried to open quite a few .flv files in 8.0.9.1 QT and the program crashes with all of them. 8.0.8.5 opens all of them with no issues.

I just tried a couple of You Tube flvs to iPhone4 h264 (M4V) and they turned out great, but the conversion never stopped by itself, I had to stop it manually after the fps began to drop. But the output files were perfect.

That's weird. I have probably 20-30 .flv files. I made them all from youtube vids with Savevid. Trying to drag and drop any of them into 8.0.9.1. QT crashes the program within 2-4 seconds. This only happens with .flv. Mp4's I've made from youtube vids (also using Savevid) open fine. As far as 8.0.8.5, it has opened them all. Crap, I was getting ready to un-install 8.0.8.5. Looks like now I'll have to keep it just for this.

            hi,

I have tried some .flv file, not any crash report, I am not sure the problem is caused by special source or other reason, please give me the download url, so I can use it to test it.

            thanks.

Here is an example of something really weird is going on. I have a folder with 1 flv file in it. If I open 8.0.9.1. OT and select the file from the Source box, it crashes when trying to open. If I drag and drop that same file, the program crashes. If I select the folder containing this file in the Source box, the file opens fine.

Another weird thing. When I finally get the file to open using the method above, I can then drag and drop ANY other flv files in and they all open fine. This is as long as DVDFab remains open during this session. If I close it, I will have to repeat the above process.

                .FLV import fails

I have tried to import my .flv's on 8.0.9.1 & 2 and they both fail. It seems to get them all and then states it is "analyzing" the files then errors out. The Windows Event Handler states:

Faulting application name: DVDFab.exe, version: 8.0.9.2, time stamp: 0x4dcbbbcc
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16695, time stamp: 0x4cc7ab86
                Exception code: 0xc0000374
                Fault offset: 0x000cea27
                Faulting process id: 0x8e0
                Faulting application start time: 0x01cc10d4f4a6b879
                Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\DVDFab 8\DVDFab.exe
                Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ntdll.dll
                Report Id: 53494e8f-7cc8-11e0-aeb5-8b899ed3d49d

I have tried dragging and dropping, opening a single file as well as opening a directory. All have the same failure on both OS'.

After further testing, I've come up with this. The only way I can get 8.0.9.1 QT to first open a flv file is to put that file in a folder, then put that folder in the Source box. Trying to go open just the file results in a crash. As I stated once before, once I do this (in any one session of DVDFab being open) I can then drag and drop any flv files I want and all will open. If I close DVDFab, I then have to do that process all over again. Beats me if I can figure this out.

I know from another program that the old Vista wouldn't allow drag&drop when the Internet Explorer and another program were running under different security levels. I guess Windows 7 acts the same. But that time the app never crashed, only ignored the drop try.

Are you running your computer as admin? Installed the program with admin rights?

I have UAC off. Also, 8.0.8.5 (or any other version until I tried QT) does not do this.
