I just downloaded the trial version of the converter. I want to convert .vob files to .avi. Another vonverter produces jerky results, so I wanted to try the dvab converter.

When opening .vob files in the converter the first one or two files will not open.

Can someone tell me why? I'm glad I didn't spend $40 yet.

If you are attempting to convert VOB files that are in a VIDEO_TS folder, you should use the Ripper module, not Converter. The files that would not convert for you were probably the menus.

Yes, I tried that and it worked. I can't seem to find where I can buy a lifetime license for the ripper, only a subscription. The order now button says I can buy it for $49.

Glad that worked. Click on the Subscription dropdown, Lifetime is the bottom option. See the attached image from the Buy Now page on the website.
