Trimming issues

I think I am doing trimming right but when I press start it just converts the whole thing, did I miss something?

Checking this, sorry you had a problem. In the example you gave, was your goal to exclude the marked area or to include only the marked area for processing?

Ah I see, I assume that the red section is what I am removing not what I am keeping

The Trim section from 1:41 to 1:51 should be cut out, which means that the output file shall not contain this section.
To get only the section from 1:41 to 1:51, click on the "Trim Invert" button at the lower place.
