CONVERT 4K HDR (.mkv) TO 4K SDR (.mp4) - Who helps me?

I need to convert many 4K mkv HDR movies to SDR.

there are various bugs in this procedure and I list them to you:

    1) When set in the 5500kb profile as a bitrate, this is not respected on all files that have the same profile, but many increases the bitrate. I do not understand why.

    2) I don't know how it is possible to print subtitles on the screen, it seems that this function does not exist

    3) I would like to put an introductory video at the beginning and end of the video .. there is no such option, is there?

    Hi Mario
For 1), please provide more information about the source mkv files you are using. Were they created by DVDFab? Please scan one using the free MediaInfo tool () and export the data to a text file and attach it to a new post.

For 2), normally you can select Direct Render to Video to burn the subs into the output video, but in some cases this option is not available.

For 3), possibly but not easily, it depends on the nature of the Intro and Exit files and other factors.

Hi admin, first of all thank you for your answers.

I am your loyal user for many years and soon I will open a streaming service (netflix style) I will have about 50 computers with dvdfab (soon I will buy the necessary licenses) and 10 people who will take care of video conversion.

This is why it is very important that I solve these problems, I want to use DVDFAB because I have always felt good in the past and for home use ..

      1) Maybe I explained myself wrong .. here is a screen: https://pikky.net/jTT.png
In this profile I saved that it must set bitrate to 5500.

When you open other movies, this value is changed (I don't know what) sometimes it's higher and other times it's lower. I wish it was fixed at 5500.

      2) Can you explain to me how I can print the subtitles on the screen? this would be very useful to me.

      3) The movie is an introductory movie, netflix style .. I would like to understand how to insert it before and after each video.

      4) I would like to understand if it is possible to make dvdfab work with the commands, in order to create a script that interacts with the software

Meanwhile, thank you for your professionalism

        1) Please set and save the value of bit/pixel in the profile and then use that profile to try again.
        2) In the Advanced Settings panel, scroll it down a bit, you will have the Subtitle options where you can choose Direct Render.

            1) The minimum bit / pixel value that can be saved only 0.05 and this is too much for me, bitrate 5500 on many films is 0.03 and this does not allow saving.
            2) This doesn't work, I had to extract the SRT from MKV files with mkvectractor and then do "add external subtitles" in this way print them on the screen .. thanks anyway for the information
