What is missing in Video Converter?

Hey guys

i have been using different videoconverters and i must say
the actual DVDFab converter with Cuda is a good begin, but a lot is missing

there is a bug in the target directory setting, each time DVDFab restarts,the target is lost ,no ability to clean the second entry

For Good batch converting the settings should be set in a separate menu

In the Conversion Menu,
the following settings are changed each time DVDFab restarts:

Desinterlacing
Framerate
Audiochannels
This is really annoying

Concerning the Conversion Menu,
Possibelity to get higher resolutions like Badaboom & others

The size is not working efficiently in batch converting, a Gb file can not be converted to a 20 Mb file as the quality will be horrible
For batchconverting i would suggest
- to fill in a percentage of the filesize
- to enable variable bitrate with a min & max
- to get a possibility to set quality to minimum,good,better,best with or without variable bitrate

concerning GPUload mayby there should be a min/max setting as the computer will lock up if the GPU is overloaded

There should be warned not to turn the display of, each time i leave the computer alone, the computer crashes , now I'm going to test why, mayby it's my fault ?

If all this would be taken into account , then this would be the best videoconverter ever

For batchconverting i would suggest
- to fill in a percentage of the filesize

- to get a possibility to set quality to minimum,good,better,best with or without variable bitrate

I second most of these suggestions and want to add one for batch conversion. It would be nice, if DVDFab fails on conversion of one item in batch, it would move to the next one, and not staying with warning waiting for me to check on it.

Hey Guys
to day the converter crached 7 times during conversion
i think it is due to the fact that there is a mix of different resolutions.
i deleted the crashed file and saw the resolution was changed.
i started from the last good conversion with resolution 1200X720 & 1200 kbps settings,a wmv file sized 620 Mb, the following file was an avi ,320X240 sized 248Mb,started the conversion,skipped the first wvm file,directly after starting the conversion of this second avi file the conversion stopped and the converter exited
I redid the test and started with the second file an avi ,320X240 sized 248Mb and the conversion went thru

This seems to me a serious bug.

I hope this gives you an hint to resolve the bug

In batch mode

Each time a file is loaded,an icon is opened & closed onto the taskbar,it's nearly a blinking chrismas tree and very annoying

i made a mistake by reloading the same files for
converting, i had to cancel 177 files, there should be the
possibelity to cancel all items

Here, here, I also would welcome these changes, I would also like to see the option to set a constant quality xxxxxxx rather than bitrate or filesize.

My only other gripe is I have been waiting for many months for the bug in the audio encoding to be fixed in mp4 files. Would also like to see an AC3 passthru option for MP4's

Then I can start using FAB for conversion. I have paid the full icense for it, but cannot use it because of the audio bug!

I just got a Bleu Screen of Death,with the message
that there was something wrong in "nv4_disp",
i suppose this is the Nvidia display driver, as i told earlier,
there should be a limit onto the max load of the GPU

I did this morning 2 batchconvertions in 2 pass quality,
the result is unacceptable:

there was no sound during +- 40 sec
afterwards the sound was asyncroon with the images
sometimes the images were partly blocked
parts of the backgound became much darker
original files ; wmv,2100kbps,29,9 frames,resolution
1280x720 pixels
converted files: H264 mp4,between 1200 & 1800 kbps,
29,9 frames,resolution 1280x720 pixels

Up to now i didn't see any anomalies in the single pass,
but i'm going to have a closer look

Hey Guys
This afternoon i was batch converting and run out of space
i could not pause the convertion, so i cancelled it.
the result was that the converter stopped completly,
i could not leave the program, i had to kill it !
So what is missing when converting :
An Automatic Pause when there is no room left,so that we can make room to continue
So I reloaded the converter with the missing files, in the default setting desinterlace was gone,audio setting were
changed, there should be a possibility to set personal settings ,to save them, these settings should be applied to
all loaded conversions, or at least to ask it , as i forgot to set them to default and only one file was converted to my
settings

in this menu there is a copy command, can someone tell
me what happens when i push it ?

What is missing:

Remove All
Remove Selected
After the batch is done you have to remove them all
one by one

I have made two series of batches of wmv1280x720, HD
to H264 at 2200 kbps , the files were +- 1% greater than the wmv's, the quality was superb.

so 2200 kbps is OK to convert to 1280x720, HD H264,
Mayby 2000 should be ok ??

Hey Guys

Little anomaly at loading files batch:
instead of loading the 1st alphabetical ordered file,
it starts with the last file of the alphabetical order
and then only starts the 1st alphabetical ordered file
