    Forced Subtitles

    Hi All,

I have an issue with B/R Ripper not detecting forced subtitles on a title U-571 (UK) 4C8CAEA063157FA4F380C979FC73726C04D1A082 I can have full subtitles or none at all if i select forced only.

    Thanks For The Help.

This generally means that the subs are not actually forced, and are in a stream of their own controlled by the disc authoring system. Use the Preview function in DVDFab to check the available streams. If this does not solve the problem, please attach the Ripper log session from this disc, instruction linked in my sig, below. If you can't see the sig, use this link: http://forum.dvdfab.cn/showpost.php?...40&postcount=5

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I have tried the preview as you suggested and i only have 1 English subtitle stream available. Therefore i have attached the internal log per your instructions. Hope this helps.
      Thanks

Sorry for the problem, there seems to be some issue with this disc:

I know I do not have the UK version of the disc and may not have the BD version, so some additional files may be needed. If so, someone will contact you via PM, so watch your inbox.

Please make a Full Disc copy to a folder on your hard drive and analyze it with BDInfo, then attach the text output of BDInfo to a new post.

            Hello iou40p,

The movie that has the below problem is fixed, please kindly try again now.

0m 06.48s: Get BluPathData and RRdata
            0m 07.89s: Failed to load fabvm.dll with error 193
            0m 07.90s: biupath eror m_pBluray = NULL error = 183
0m 07.91s: blupath second run: unknown playlist

About Forced subtitle, like signals said, please double check and see if the subtitle is forced or not.

            Regards,
            mona

                Hi Mona

I have just tried the disc again and i still don't get any forced subtitles and i have only 1 option (see screen shot) If i select normal and forced i get the subtitles over the German dialog as well as hard of hearing subtitles over the English dialog. Like before it's all or nothing.

                Thanks

It sounds like those subtitles are normal subtitles rather than forced one. But we don't have the same movie for testing, cannot know it for sure.

Please use PowerDVD to playback the movie disc, turn off subtitle, if still have the subtitles over the German dialog, then it is forced subtitle, otherwise, it is normal subtitle. Please have a try.

                  Regards,
                  mona

                    Hi Mona

I have tried, with subtitles off i get nothing on the German dialog, turned on and i get the subtitles on the German, as before with them on i get the English subtitles as well. Am assuming this is an issue with the disc instead.

                    Thanks
