Inable to copy "The Big Trail (1930)

Back in December, I posted a problem I was having making a backup copy of a blu-ray called 'The Big Trail" . I sent all requested information to the support folks (quite a lot of information) and was told it would be fixed promptly. Now it is March and the problem persists.

Can someone give me an idea of when this problem might actually get resolved?

Opps, just found Mona's reply. on this subject. Will move to Blu Ray copy.

I have the DVD of this but not the Blu-ray unfortunately. It has an odd (1.66:1) aspect ratio, not sure if this is part of the problem. What is the symptom?

See post in Blu-ray copy (per Mona's request). I get an error message saying the file contains unsupported BD+.

I found the Bluray on Amazon for $7, is this the one you have?

Probably. That is where I got my copy. The package contained both a blu-ray and DVD copy

There are many versions of this unfortunately. I will try my bd version when it gets here. It was shot in 70mm originally, but some of the versions are the cropped 4:3 aspect ratio. It was released in 4:3 also in some theaters because at the time (1930) many could not accommodate the wider film stock. The original was called the “Fox Grandeur” process.

You are correct. The blu-ray I have has both the widescreen and 4:3 version on it. The 4:3 version is not a scanned down of the wide screen. It was actually shot separately, so each scene of the movie was shot twice.

I received the Blu-ray+DVD version yesterday, the same one you have. The image on the BD is far superior to the Grandeur DVD I bought several years ago, looks like it was remastered. Still getting the BD+ error message with v11.0.7.7.
